HMmagnets Premium 17 Inch Stainless Steel Magnetic Knife Holder For Wall

I’m very happy with this product. Kudos to the people that designed this it really does work. I had another similar company etitive same priced product that I bought that was half the weight of this one. Why does this winning product have the extra weight? It was because the manufacturer used high quality heavy duty magnets. I’m very happy with this product and it comes highly recommended. When you get there she’ll notice that it’s very heavy. I could not understand why there was no recommendation on a drillbit size to use to install this. If you’re going to put in anchors for the screws it is imperative that use the right size drill bit. I had to figure this out for myself since there was not any specifications. The drill bit size I used at work for me is 11 by 16th“. I took a picture of it so you could see what it looks like. If you’re going to drill in a mounting hole for the anchor than you need to have the right size drill hole. I use this and it works perfectly. Also if you’re going to put the screw in use the drill to do that don’t do it with your hand. You’re asking for lots of cramps in your hand when you could be using the drill for this. So a drill is highly recommended to do this right if you’re going to be putting a hole in your wall. Now what is the problem with putting a hole in the wall ? If it’s going in the wall itself should not be an issue you can use spackle to easily cover the whole up later if you need to. As for attaching this to something like tile that is difficult to drill I am seeing others on here recommending using grill a double stick tape. I bought some of this but ended up not needing to use it, so I can’t really talk on that. But it seems like that would be a direction to try. If it’s not a solution in the end you can easily get the tape off of the tile with a little bit of thinner to remove the tape. Here is a tip for all of those out there that have iPhones. There is an application that’s already on your iPhone that makes installing this and getting it level a breeze. Do a search on your iPhone for “level” An application comes up that makes it easy to install this straight and get it right. I put the template on my back of my iPhone using masking tape making sure the template is visibly straight. Open the level app (called clinometer aka level). While this application running get it positioned perfectly where I wanted to hang it on the wall. Make sure it shows level on the screen. Tape the template in place on the wall with masking tape. Carefully remove the paper from the cut out on the template. Used a graphite pencil to mark the whole location. Back up and make sure that it looks level. Remove the template and you’re ready to go. Use the manufacturers instructions in general they are excellent.

It is very solid, much heavier than I thought - in a good way. The metal also wraps around the sides, there are not plastic caps at the ends which I appreciate. It does not look cheap and feels like restaurant quality. The strength of the magnets is excellent. It can hold a lot including heftier knives like cleavers with no issues. Installation was no problem either. I noticed a few people mentioned that it was a little shallow so pulling the knives off was an issue, but I had no such problems and I have fairly large hands. I think this is a great product. If you like the look and wanted one of these, this is a good item to buy and you will not be disappointed.

I don't own a knife block and wanted to get my knives out of my kitchen drawers, so I ordered this magnetic holder. It looks great and is long enough to hold my chef's knife, bread knife, paring knives and even a set of steak knives. It was easy to install with the two included screws and my own level. When I lived in a rental years ago, there was a knife holder on the wall that had wood on the edges and a small magnet in the center- you couldn't always be sure the knife was going to stick in place when you put it onto the holder. That's definitely not the case with this thing. The magnetic pull is super strong and it holds the knives really securely. A knife isn't likely to fall off this holder if you slam a door across the room etc. I like the sleek look and the fact that this could pretty much hold any metal kitchen utensil. It held onto a spatula and a metal can opener for me. It's made from quality stainless steel that can show fingerprints, but once you have this installed just wipe it clean and after that, your fingers never touch the stainless steel anyway, just the knife handles. This should stay looking great for a very long time with very little maintenance.

I recently decided to invest into new, higher quality knives since I was cooking more than ever before. Plus I had gotten all of the use out of my previous knives, so it was nice to splurge. I quickly ran into a problem when it came to storing/protecting my new, razor sharp knives. I couldn't leave them out on the counter for fear of rust, plus it was a safety hazard to other people in the house. My temporary solution was to wrap them in paper towels and store them in the drawer but that was not a viable solution either. If someone didn't know where the edge of the knife was they would be injured. Plus the knife blade was not protected from other heavier, knife killing objects. Then I remembered seeing a magnetic knife holder on various cooking shows and in magazines. I quickly searched for one and the HM Magnets brand had great reviews. The installation was pretty easy. I tried using industrial strength double sided tape (the same type that I used in the engine bay of my car) but that didn't last long due to the heat and the unevenness of the wall. I then mounted a 2x4 to a stud in the wall and mounted the knife holders to the stud. The entire setup is rock solid and it holds my 2ish lb Chinese cleaver perfectly! Once you get within a .5 inch of the holder, the magnets quickly take over and suck it to the surface with a satisfying smack! If you need a knife holder, this is the one to purchase.

The magnet itself is SUPER strong and I love that. However, I installed the bar according to the directions from the manufacturer. We bought the Gorilla brand tape and placed it going up and down the whole length of the bar. It looked awesome for about a week and then the sag began. At first I thought maybe I had installed it crooked but then over the next two weeks, it sagged another inch before I finally just had to pull it down. Maybe we'll try to reinstall it on a wall without tile soon but I was a little disappointed in that. Otherwise, the product itself is great. There was definitely no worry about knives falling off of it.

UPDATE: I’ve tried two different two sided tapes and reappplied each tape twice too, only to have my knives come crashing down. This is no fault of the bar, but buyer beware: you need the right tape (not sure what that is yet) to hold my magnetic bar and both have failed! I’m going to have to drill into my tiles to keep it on the wall! 🤩👍🏼100% satisfied with this product! After reading multiple reviews of this product and other brands of magnetic knife bars, I’m so glad I chose this one. Pros: *super heavy duty🏋️‍♂️ *very easy installation *the length is fantastic! Holds a lot of knives. *it works!!! My knives DO NOT SLIP!! *AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE (I didn’t want to drill into my subway tile and before I could reach out to the company, I received an email from the seller, asking if I had any questions about the product. I expressed my concerns. They responded to my question with very thorough instructions and multiple pictures! I located the proper double sided tape at Target and had this thing installed in less than five minutes!) Cons: NONE! I highly recommend!! Worth the higher price tag as compared to other competitive brands that have less magnetic strength and a lower price point. Why take that risk??

I purchased the (fix to) wall version of the premium magnetic knife holder. It took 10 minutes to install using a drill and the template supplied. It now (securely) holds 6 chef’s knives. It has freed up the space taken up by a knife block on my kitchen counter and is a neat solution for knife storage. It is solid, and looks great in my kitchen!
