Save yourself the time and just mail me your $20
This is virtually worthless. I purchased one to see what it would do with the plan of purchasing a few more for the front sidewalk of my house if it worked well. The day after I put it out, there were two dead mosquitoes in it, so I figured it was working. I left it out there for a couple weeks, and every time I go outside at night I check to see if anything is getting zapped, but nothing ever is and there are mosquitoes attacking me. I even tried sitting down right next to the light to see what happens, and they came after me, not the light. It's a very dim light, and MAYBE if you put a half dozen or so along a sidewalk they might be effective, but at that point you're paying $120 to see if it works or not, and you may as well have purchased a decent traditional bug zapper for half the price that will definitely work. The only thing I will say good about it is that it uses a rechargeable AA battery, so it would be easy to replace when it goes bad as opposed to most of these solar lights that use an odd size battery that costs almost as much as replacing the light. Kudos for this one positive aspect. As a side note, the quality is also atrocious. My 10 year old stepped on it one time by mistake and it snapped off the stake at the bottom. Don't waste your money on this junk.

Junk
I have many solar products, from yard accent lights to security motion lights. They are powerful and reliable. That does not apply here. The item was placed in direct California sun. At night, the dull violet light emitted disappointed. I sat out back in my patio & did not hear or see this kill any bugs. Waste of money. Save your time, order a plug in bug zapper.

Doesn't kill mosquitoes, just UV-attracted bugs like moths
I really wanted to like this, but it doesn't do what it says it does. It's well built, comes with a 600mah rechargable battery built in, nice looking. It feels solid. The UV light provides very little visible light though, which is also fine if it killed lots of bugs. After 4 nights of leaving it outside, it only had about 6 or 7 bugs on the coils -- maybe some more got zapped and fell off -- but it seemed like it should be doing more. I looked online and found that UV does not attract mosquitoes (just search the web for "mosquitoes UV zappers"). So even if this thing is well built, I found it not to kill that many bugs, and almost none of the mosquitoes. Also - the packaging is all in French and it doesn't come with instructions.

Attractive and Useful
I use these as solar lights they work well. They automatically charge during the day and then turn on at dusk so I don't need to worry about turning them on or off. I haven't been near them at night so I can't tell if they zap any bugs, but I have noticed a decrease in bugs near my door at night so I think they must be working. The color is very attractive and looks nice during the day and when it lights up at night. I left them out all summer and fall and they were fine in rain or sunshine.Overall, these are attractive and useful and I certainly recommend them.

Junk.
There are no instructions. You have to guess what thebswitch levels do.And when you figure it out it's so dim that it doesn't attract bugs.Don't waste your money.

If it gets good sun, it'll do pretty good
If it gets good sun, it'll do pretty good. It got quite a few mosquitos for me, but I think you'd need quite a few of these to really make a significant difference in your mosquito population. Where I'm at they're not too bad, so this was somewhat useful. For the money, I can't complain. About what I expected. Maybe even a little better, but by no means a magical catch-all.

Happy with product.
Product is very quiet but I know it works because my dogs periodically run over and look closely at them. I've learned to identify the soft buzzing noise from their reaction. I only wish I could have the white light on at the same time as the zapper. I think it might attract more bugs.

Works nicely
Nice and bright after dark, and it actually has zapped some bugs, I cleaned it out the morning after setting it outside and there was about 10 dead bugs in it. Make sure you don't touch the wire inside when cleaning it out!! I made that mistake and gave myself quite a little zap in the hand!!
