In the lowest setting, it's still quite noisy, that I couldn't sleep. Returned the next day, and since purchasing from the manufacturer, had to pay for shipping back. All in all, paid almost $200 in shipping, once to receive and once to return. I think the unit will clean the air though. Not as quiet as our Coway Airmega 400 and 300, Ecospshere, Blueair 211, and Alen Breathsmart. **Q: Can it remove radon?** A: Yes, the VOC carbon filter will absorb Radon. **Q: I have had my air doctor for about 1.5-2 years and it has yet to give me the sign to change filters, will it do this?** A: How long the filters last depends on a couple of different factors. Specifically, the quality of the air in your home AND how many hours per day you operate your unit. Based on the air quality in the average home in the United States and Canada and 24/7 operation, the Gas Trap VOC filter should last 6 months and the Ultra HEPA filter should last a full 12 months before they need to be replaced. If you operate your AirDoctor for only 12 hours per day, then the Gas Trap VOC filter should last 1 year and the Ultra HEPA filter should last a full 2 years before they need to be replaced (in homes with average air quality). We recommend that you leave your AirDoctor set to Auto, which will allow your device to adjust automatically, based on the filtering needs inside your home. There is also a pre-filter (attached to the VOC filter), which can be easily vacuumed to remove the larger contaminants like dust and hair. With proper care and under normal operating conditions, this filter should not need to be replaced. When you see dust on the pre-filter you can vacuum it and continue to use it. For optimal performance, we recommend that you clean the pre-filter every 1-2 months. Of course, there was not a consensus but I compared prices, sq feet covered, times per hour it cleaned, and many other technical stats that I have already forgotten. I have blueair 211 (rated high on CSR and Wired), Coway Mighty (top choice on Wired) and needed at least one more. Both my husband and myself suffer from terrible allergies. With these purifiers, my nose is no longer constantly running and my husband has severely cut down on his sneezing. Although I like the Coway and Blueair, the AirDoctor has specs that rival the IQ air Health Pro Plus for a lot less money. It is so quiet you barely know it's on.
