The material is soft and it works as described. The issue I have is that the height isn't adjustable so if you are a short person it doesn't work that well. The other problem is getting it situated on the plane.

Convenient for long flight
We travel to South Africa every year to visit family, and this travel pillow will be a great help for resting our head in a cramped seat with two young boys. No issues with smell. The only improvement would be to make face hole softer as the face hole takes the majority of weight.

the description makes it sound like it will work from your lap
I tried to use this on an 8 hour flight. Mostly, it was just in the way. I didn't find it helped to sleep- leaning forward was hard on my back. Also, the description makes it sound like it will work from your lap, but I didn't find it comfortable that way at all. I ended up deflating it and using the airline seat instead. It doesn't go back into the bag, either, as someone else said.

Experience a More Restful Trip
I bought this for my friend Kelly who travels cross country with her teenage son multiple times a year. My hope was that she'd be a little more comfortable as she visited all of her beloved friends and family. And she was! After her last visit she sent me these pics and told me everyone on the plane was jealous that they didn't have one of these. Kelly also told me that it was very easy to inflate and deflate and no one from TSA or the airline gave her any problem with it. I'm so glad this pillow gave her a more restful trip!

Awesome
I have been wanting this pillow for sometime. I havent used on a flight just yet but i can tell you this pillow is good quality. Its what you would expect it would feel like. I tried it out at home and i can definitely see myself using it on long flights. I may be jaded or have just seen so many pics of this pillow online that i honestly dont think its weird. I dont expect any funny looks.
