Well made and good value, it's been in a while now and does the job

Whilst researching how much a new thermostatic valve was going to be for my old shower, I discovered this Solepearl shower was only slightly dearer than buying the valve on its own. After measuring the distance between the inlets (150mm) I decided to take a punt on it and I'm so glad I did! I'm not a plumber, but I found it really easy to fit. I just switched the water off, removed the old one and the new one slotted straight onto the old fittings. I just added a bit of fresh ptfe tape. 90 minutes after starting the job I was in the shower! Apart from the separate shower head, the entire thing is made of metal and not cheap chrome coloured plastic. It looks fantastic and the controls are really easy to use and the temperature control is easy to adjust. I would highly recommend this shower, both in terms of looks and functionality but also for ease of fitting. You also don't have to buy any extras to fit it apart from a bit of PTFE tape.

Arrived quickly and was well packaged. On unpacking, the parts were all well packed, sealed and undamaged. The mixer itself is very smart and good quality. Very sturdy and nice to use. The fixings and pole are all fine with easy to ready instructions. Easy to install. I have mine fitted with a 2 bat shower pump and it works great. My only complaints are the quality of the shower heads themselves and the hand held shower head hose. However given the price I can't really argue. Well worth the money but would recommend buying better quality heads and hose separately.

Despite the colour being great in our bathroom, the paint on the mixer tap is peeling off. As it gets hot, the paint goes bobbly and ends up coming off. The taps are now very hard to operate too. We have a water softener and have never used chemicals to clean it which goes to show the quality is very poor. I would not recommend this shower.

I wanted to purchase a matt black all-in-one shower as chrome has a tendency to show water marks and calcium quite well. I had struggled to find one that matched my criteria until I found this one. I have always preferred a square rainfall head so this fit perfectly. I wanted to fit this myself and the instructions had been absolutely great. It had been a nice surprise to use the adjustable telescopic pole that hold the shower head, this makes it perfect to the majority of homes. The square adjustable temprature and water outlet had been another criteria that this product had ticked off, it allows easy of adjustment even with shampoo on your hands! (I learnt the hard way with round handles) I have used this product for a few months, I have added water filters to both the shower heads to improve the products longevity as I have hard water.

This is a great looking shower unit which comes with good ratings. However, having installed the unit last week the thermostat is now playing up and not mixing the cold and hot water feeds properly. It's a seal unit so there is no opportunity fix which is a bit of a shame. I'm writing this review in the hope that the seller will see this and get back to me with a resolution. Update: The suppliers contacted me several days ago and are sending a replacement part. They have been very professional in their handling and we're prompt in offering help. I will revise my initial assessment once the part is fitted.
