Battle of the Electric Razors
After lots of hands on research including the Panasonic Arc 6 and the Braun Series 9 Pro. Here's my feedback. 1. Panasonic Arc 6 will give you a closer shave than the Braun Series 9 Pro. Whether you shave dry or wet. 2. A closer shave can mean more razor burn and this is equally true with the Panasonic Arc 6. The Braun Series 9 pro won't shave as close as the Pan Arc 6 but it will be a bit more comfortable (wet or dry), less razor burn. However, here's the important facts to keep in mind. Fact: Dry shaving will never get you as close a shave as wet shaving. It cannot. The physics are simply not in favor of drying shave closeness. Closeness however is a relative term. Some people don't want to shave that close and that's perfectly ok. It's a personal preference. If you want the maximum comfort at the cost of a shave that is not as close, then the Braun Series 9 pro will save you some money and serve you well (wet or dry). If you are in pursuit of the closet shave you can get with an electric razor, here's what I found to be true. Take your shower in the morning before shaving. Apply a nice shaving cream with a shaving brush. Avoid the canned stuff. Then use the Panasonic Arc 6. You'll get the closest shave you can with an electric and the razor burn will be nearly eliminated. That's it. No secret. No magic. Wet shaving (shaving with real shaving cream) and the Pan Arc 6 will get you the super close shave you might want with an electric. The upside on days when you are in a rush, before you shower, you can use a pre-electric shaving lotion gently pass the Pan arc 6 over your face and get a quick and dry shave. Not as close as wet shaving but likely good enough for the vast majority of people. Dry shaving is just dry shaving you cannot make it more than what it is. It is fast and with a little bit of practice you can avoid razor burn by not trying to get a closer shave than the shaver is capable of doing dry by avoiding pressing the shaver hard against your face or going over the same area too many times. Accept that it's going to be "less close" but you get the advantage of speed and convenience. Wet shaving is the real ticket to a close shave no matter what method you use. That takes a nice hot shower, and high quality shaving cream (not the canned stuff). Here is the larger question. If you're committed to a wet shave why not just use one of the really good cartridge razors? and the answer is....... You can. A Gillette proGlide shield will give you a shave that is a bit closer than the method I describe above. So if you already using a proglide, and wet shaving (obviously), then you can stick with what you're doing and avoid electrics althogether. The one recommendation I would give is that even the proglide can be dramatically improved by dropping the canned foam and buying a nice shaving cream and using a shaving brush. After a full year of researching all the different shaving paraphernalia, I've come to the conclusion that a hot shower and really good shaving cream makes the biggest difference no matter what you shave with. What your dad told you when you were just a kid; turns out to be right. :) Shavers come and go, but a hot shower and a good shaving cream are here to stay. Start with that then pick whatever shaver makes you happy.

WOW just as close shave as a razor!
Well the reviews I read that convinced me to spend this much switching to an electric shaver were more than true... As close as the most recent Gillette razors AND even closer/better on certain areas of my face. I am clean shaven so getting all of my face perfectly smooth is paramount to my shaving regiment. This shaver is easy and intuitive to use for a first timer and achieve awesome results. PRO TIP: hot shower, Lectric Shave electric shaver pre-shave lotion, shave. THAT is how you can achieve that razer close, clean shave you're after with no nicks. The cleaning station is crucial, as well. It cleans, lubricates, dries, and charges it with ease. And I mean clean like brand spankin new! No rinsing or disassembly required. Just stick it in there and get on with your productive day. Do yourself a personal grooming favor and buy this now. Amazon is fantastic in that you can send it back if it isn't for you; but you won't... It is THAT awesome at delivering the results! I used Gillette razors for 30+ years. I can't wait for the 1-month period of time to elapse so my face can finally heal from the years of razor use: razor 'bumps' and basically faint scar tissue from years of nicks. So, no more shaving cream and no more sourcing the best price on razor cartridges... And no more hassle with nicks, bleeding, disappointment - how stone age!

Exceptional and comfortable close shaver but very expensive
I have been using rotary electric shavers all my life. My current one was due for replacement, and I thought I would like to try a foil shaver for a change. I decided to buy this latest model ARC6 Panasonic shaver based on excellent reviews of the ARC5 series shavers. The shaver comes with a cleaning base as well as case and charging cable. On charging it to 100%, I tried it for the first time. The result was the closest and smoothest shave I have had from an electric shaver. I am very impressed. It has a rather larger shaving head, but the head is very flexible and moves smoothly over the contours of my face, so it works really well. In addition because of the width of the razor head, a complete shave takes very little time. The cleaning charging base is very loud and takes an hour plus to clean the raser, but it comes out perfectly clean and dry! Bravo. There are some cons that I must mention: 1.This is the most expensive shaver on the market. 2. The razor is quite loud compared to my previous rotary shaver. In conclusion, if you can stomach the very high price of this shaver, you are going to get the best shaving experience. Highly recommended!

Extremely close shave from an electric razor.
Presentation: This shaver comes in a very high quality box, with plenty of packing material (bags, high quality cardboard etc) keeping the shaver safe. Overall a very nice presentation when opening and taking out components out of the bags. Build Quality: The overall build quality of the shaver itself is incredible. It feels very rigid in construction and consists of mostly metal and grippy materials. The cartridge featuring 6 blades very high quality. The heads all maneuver in their own ways in order to shave around the contours of your face. The head itself also pivots every which way imaginable. The Shave: Being blatantly honest in this section. If you wait a few days, you will have to touch up sections of your neck. Whether it be with the trimmer or with another means entirely. It does not do a great job at catching those long flat laying neck hairs. HOWEVER, if this is your daily shaver and you don’t really take a break between shaves it does an excellent job. Again with a quick prep it will do the same if it has been a couple days or more. The closeness of the shave is insane. It is 100 percent comparable to that of a Gillette or other high quality razor. If you are new to electric shavers, it is important to base these results after about 10-15 minutes due to the use of pre shaves that may raise hairs. Allowing the hair to settle back into the skin will show just how close a shave this truly achieves. Cleaning Dock: This cleaning and charging dock will save you plenty of time post shave. Just pop the shaver in and press select and the default of clean and dry will occur. It does a solid job at cleaning up the cartridge and removing hair. The drying feature is awesome, no rust, or any kind of issues that come with moisture will be a concern. Highly recommend the dock. Is It Worth It?: If you are looking for the absolute closest shave attainable from an electric shaver and have the funds, yes. However there are cheaper alternatives that are about as close such as the Arc 5. If you are considering buying this shaver, I cannot recommend the dock enough. In for a penny, in for a dollar.

Best Damn Shaver on Earth
I studied the reviews by Pro Barbers, etc. After buying and returning shavers that wouldn't cut it I decided to go for the 2023 shaver reviewed by many as the best of the best. My son said, "Dad, at that price it should be sexuallt gratifying!" (In coarser language however) Hence the video I send back to him. With 2 weeks of growth I shaved my whole head (sans eyebrows) and it took only 5 min and power level went from 100% to 95%! Shave is razor close. It also has no trouble cutting the coarse white beard hairs of my old man face! I know it's an expensive shaver but well worth it. I can shave in my living room while watching the TV or in my car. It is fairly quiet. Smooth and co.fortable without any hair pulling. Hardly any effort to clean. You must get it or get LESS. LESS means long shave times (repeated passes); & razor touch-ups.

Fragile overpriced and unreliable
I have owned 2 of these. On the first the shaving head support mechanism broke resulting in the head flopping around so much the trimmer switch would not reliably engage the trimmer and pop it up. The second developed an odd sound and one of the pins that engage with and drive the blades integrated into the foil assembly broke off, so some of the blades were no longer moving. For a $300+ flagship product this sort of product quality is inexcusable I’ve been using Panny wet / dry razors for over 30 years and this is the first model that has been a total disappointment. I got a grand total of 4 years of light use out of them combined. By light use I mean that I first shave with a BaByliss Pro FX3 (a phenomenal razor by the way) which takes off 95% of my daily growth and I used these as a polishing step after to get the rest. Both shaved very close while they worked, but newer is not better. I think these newer generation Arc 5s and Arc 6s with the blades integrated into the foil assemble are fragile useless junk. Buy the earlier generation Arc 5 with the 2 main blades as separate replacement items instead. They shave as close and are wildly more sturdy and reliable.

Read this is you are considering ARC6
I have owned three ARC5s. Great shavers! I couldn't decide if I wanted to change out blades on my last one at over $100 or try out the ARC6. I did read reviews and noted that there was not much difference in the new ARC6, but I didn't heed the advice and bought an ARC6. It is very similar to the ARC5. The only differences I can determine are that it does not get as hot as the ARC5, and given that it has an extra strip of blades, I find it more tedious to cut directly under my nose. Both also seem to have issues with catching all the stray throat/neck hairs, but I believe the ARC5 is slightly better. I hope this helps someone make a more educated decision on their purchase.

Great razor made in Japan and not China!
ARC6 is a step up from the ARC5 I have used for many years. The shave is very smooth and takes less effort than my old ARC5. Six blades does make a difference. I bought the cleaning machine option since I have found the cleaning solution and cleaning process keeps the blades clean and lubricated better than other cleaning sprays and lubricant. Plus it's more convenient. Advice for replacing the head. There Chinese knockoffs sold by Amazon that are slightly cheaper than the real Panasonic heads. Check the seller when buying. Current genuine Panasonic head is sold and shipped by Amazon and is about $10 more than the knockoffs. I have seen comments about the head not lasting very long. Could be due to buying a knockoff. With Amazon read the fine print carefully before you buy.

Panasonics BEST Shaver in the WORLD ES-LS9A
The Panasonic 6blade shaver from the start of opening the box to charging the shaver is built like a work of art from JAPAN ( not some china nock off ) Then when I used the shave for the first time it was nothing I have ever used before and all my shavers are the best of Braun being the Series 9Pro now. The shaver gives you a massaging affect of comfort and cuts through the hair like it doesn't exist. Please believe it is well worth the money as you won't be replacing it for many many years to come. The dual motors are in the head assembly and it orbits and pivots 360 degrees like a gimbal gyro scope built for planes. The fit and finish to the model body does not do it any justice in the photos as the surround behind head is all black mirrored chrome and the casting pivots are powered coated silver paint with the finest meticulous detail to the entire shaver, much like Nikon does on the Z9 I own from Japan as well. The hidden LED screen is really a nice touch that lights up and boldy shows the state info. The handle is very thin and easy to hold from the larger plastic Braun cases and the rubberized back grip is perfectly contoured to fit like a glove would. Wow I am not kidding this tool is an amazing work of art and must be seen and tried to believe how good it really is. I am so happy to have ordered it from Amazon as they carry everything we could ever want and will deliver it to your home in a timely manner. As the man says about the PATCH if your looking at this add then you need it and you have nothing to loose, so order it and try it as you won't send it back I can bet you the bank on that one. Cheers everyone Brian Bauman [email protected] PS ordering a second one for my home in Florida !

expensive?yes,great shave?also yes
overall a great premium shaver first of all, this is a expensive shaver, there's no doubt about that this shaver is quiter than arc 4, which should be a plus to many people it also provides a surprisingly better shave than the arc4, as a user of arc4 for many years, i can tell this gives a better shave at faster speed, it's not just a larger shaving surface area i guess the design is also better, the shaving blade is attached differently, making it even safer to clean the inside of it on the other downside, remember this thing is expensive, which also means the replacement shaving blade is a league more expensive than the arc4

Simply the best
This is my second Panasonic (replacing my ES-LV9Q). The new ESLS9A is quite impressive (for sure it is newer but even considering that, it is one step up). Shaving with CREMO shaving cream and you have very close to a blade shaving. 5 stars for sure!
