FAST phone. Works on ATT VOLTE but no 5G
I live in usa and bought this to use on ATT, network wise it works exactly like my US model xperia 1 ii did volte provisioned and ims registered, unfortunately theres no actual 5G despite claims on Reddit or XDA that it does. It will say 5G but not connected to any NR bands, doesnt bother me though i still get 100mbps+ on LTE where i live ***2 month update* Device is still working great. It from my understanding it will get actual 5g on tmobile, this is verision to get unless you have verizon in US, the CT62 US model bootloader is not unlocked. It is also not shown anywhere but this model is the CT72 with CUSTOMIZED TAIWAN firmware. You will not be able to get BRAVIA CORE on this model from playstore. Remember to disable DSDS mode if youre not running dual sim, battery life is improved with this disabled. The phone is much improved over my xperia 1 ii, the sceeen is very bright, haptic feedback are the best than any other phone i have used, fingerprint sensor is accurate, the cameras are FAST, the phones criticisms of over heating are blown out of proportion IMO. Ive Only seen the hot warning sign when i first got it and it was downloading updates/applying at the same i was taking quite a few continuous photos. This seller is slow to ship, prepare to wait a while to get your item to actually ship out, they will mark it shipped but mine didnt get in fedex hands untill the 8th day. They also ship it in a bubble wrapped fedex bag, could of easily been crushed, pretty disappointing to ship out a 1k phone in a bag. Luckily mine was intact and undamaged.

NOT 5G!
5 stars it is the best phone I ever bought, but you guys lied and said it was 5g. Only gets LTE+. Very disappointing. Right now itās just a very expensive camera and music player.

It's a Sony
Sony phones are expensive, but if you want a great phone without today's massive camera bumps, then this is an option. Great screen and simple Android basics with no bloat. I really like the phone.

Great Deal on a Great Phone
Don't know if Sony will continue making phones so wanted to get one before they stop. I wouldn't have paid their original retail price but for the price I paid, this phone beats them all. Classic design and features - the best REAL pictures that aren't messed with by the phone's computer like Apple and Samsung. Sure their pictures are beautifully saturated with color, but I'm done with the awe and ready for a bit of reality. Flipping through apps and stuff on the screan is amazing - fast! The screen color and depth is just unbelievable. The LOVE the headphone jack and pairing with my Sony WH-1000XM5's I get increadable sound wired as expected (down to 4 Hz!), but even with Bluetooth the LDAC produces better than CD quality. Love the setup. So if you like music and photography, I don't think there are any better.

Never again
Received the phone in a box which was not sealed like the new phone need to be. The phone got troubled right the time I tried to power on. After that, it kept restarting like crazy. Is this the product's problem or the seller's problem?

It was great
My 1 IV arrived roughly 10 months ago, and it was great. Well not really, it has a variety of issues but I still loved it. Most notably, it functions as a portable hand warmer. It will get uncomfortably hot just by maxing the brightness. It was actually quite convenient for me since my hands are always cold, and you could get it down to a more comfortable temp by lowering it a bit. The model I received also had a slightly wobbly headphone jack, not enough to cause any issues, just mildly frustrating with how expensive it is. The biggest issue with this phone, and well.. Apparently a lot of sony's phones is their terrible quality control. As I said before, it's about 10 months old. Just this past week the fingerprint sensor has started to fail. It doesn't give any feedback, and it shows "Fingerprint Hardware not available" on the lock screen, and it gives a popup when trying to add a new fingerprint saying: "Enrollment was not completed, Registration will be canceled since fingerprint enrollment time limit reached...." It has since progressed after a few reboots to the fingerprint manager completely missing from the settings app. Here's the real kicker, there's multiple posts on sony's own community forums. Speaking of, can I say that their website design is so unbelievably frustrating to follow. I can't even find the community forums on their US site, but it's conveniently accessible under Support on the UK version. Anyway, you can find multiple posts about this exact fingerprint sensor issue on their forums, reddit, & xdaforums. But the worst part, is that this has been a recurring issue on a variety of different sony phones. I'm currently reading off a post in the Xperia 1 section in xdaforums, detailing the exact issue i'm experiencing, and it was made in january of 2020, though i'm seeing mention of this issue occuring on the XZ1 as well, which was released in august of 2017. That means this issue is still occurring at best 4 years after it's discovery, or at worst 7. Just to reiterate / correct myself, from what I can tell this is a hardware failure from faulty components, which seems to also be the case for those in the post i'm mentioning. Contacting sony's support has raised a few questions in my head, like how this amazon listing says it doesn't come with a warranty, but when I enter either of my phone's IMEI numbers into sony's online warranty checker, it tells me I do infact have warranty, and it will last until 2025. Sony's support has also been less than helpful, I'm located in the US so naturally I went to their USA support. They told me something that i've frankly mostly forgotten, but I've since been referred to the UK support chat, because they couldn't handle the international model or something. Didn't make any sense to me during the chat, and it makes less now since i've forgotten most of it. Also unless I'm terribly mistaken, someone has successfully flashed the US firmware onto this model, which SHOULD mean that the only real difference between an international model and a US would be the differing network bands. Maybe there's other differences, but the main issue should be with the power button assembly, Something that is completely identical between models. Frankly this experience has sucked, I've really liked using this phone, but the negatives are starting to outweigh the positives. I'm currently waiting for a phone call from... one of their departments, sorry I forgot to write it down. Hopefully it ends up being a better experience than what has happened so far, though I'm more than slightly doubtful that it will. Anyway, thanks for reading, and screw you apple, for making dongles the standard. I should be able to use headphones and charge at the same time without needing more than my headphones and my charger. oh, also. Don't believe that guy who's saying this model doesn't work on T-Mobile, I had similar issues with them that were resolved by changing to their new sim card. The old model (TM####) would almost never have service, but their new R15 sim has worked flawlessly for me this past month. or maybe do believe him, I guess it could have been a completely unrelated issue.
