A good solid knife
I've been around a long time. I remember Imperial knives from the 1950s and still have those I got as a boy. Today, Imperial is no longer made in the USA. They're made in China, as are a good deal of knives today. So what? This is a great Sodbuster Jr style knife at a fraction of the cost and built to last. Sharp out of the box and takes an edge well. I like this style knife and the fit and finish is great. I don't care where it's made, I care how it's made! This one is reminiscent of the old Imperial knives I bought in the 50s and 60s.

Great knife
Great little knife. Very inexpensive and makes a great gift. Great for every day carry and if you lose it you aren’t out much money. Buy several and you will never lose it… lol

Great little traditional style knife
This is a very nice looking knife and for under $10, it's an even better deal. The yellow is kinda opaque, but if you use some plastic polish it shines right up rather nicely. Came very well sharpened, the opening and closing is a bit gritty, but some PB Blaster and some opening and closing fixes it right up. Feels good in the hand and comfortable, it would make for a great knife for a first timer or for a seasoned user as well. I've got the bigger model (IMP22L) and wanted to add this one to the collection, I can fully say I don't regret it.

Basic, Simple....a great little knife
IF "made in China" is offensive, than this knife is probably NOT the knife brand for you because that's where it's made. I bought this little knife for mostly opening boxes and packages coming into the shop, but the lil' yellow stinker has managed to whittle it's way into my pocket outside of there quite frequently. Initially, I just looking for a basic, simple, one-bladed pocket knife that didn't cost me a small fortune. I was not disappointed with this particular one. Good lock up, not too hard to pull the blade, bright yellow helps makes it easier to see where I left it as I'm always setting it down, get busy and not paying attention where i put it. Blade is centered and not loose at all. It has many of the qualities of a much more expensive knives. About the only cmplaint, like others have mentioned, it was a little gritty out of the box, but a good cleaning/oiling and working with it has made it smooth out rather nicely....no complaints with that now. It didn't take me too long to get it razor sharp, and it seesm to hold the edge fairly well for a knife at this price point. It's not made of the best knife blade steel out there, but it is more than adequate for the use it was purchased for. FWIW, when it does start to dull, and it will, I give it a few passes on my strop and it's right back to being plenty sharp enough for the purposes that it's used for. On top of all of that, IF I do happen to lose it, I'm not out a big ole bunch of money. Overall, I'm wll-pleased with it as it meets my needs quite well. Bottom line: I just like it.

The Imperial IMP22 Sodbuster Jr.: A Little Giant of Utility
Don't let the "junior" in its name fool you; the Imperial IMP22 Sodbuster Jr. is a surprisingly capable and charming little knife. For those seeking a simple, reliable, and affordable pocket tool, this unassuming slipjoint delivers far beyond its modest price point. The classic sodbuster design is timeless. Its simple, robust construction is built for practicality. The single, clip-point blade, typically made of high-carbon steel, arrives sharp and is easy to maintain. It's perfect for everyday tasks, from opening boxes to light whittling. What truly stands out is the IMP22's compact size. It slips effortlessly into any pocket, making it a perfect everyday carry (EDC) option. You'll barely notice it's there until you need it. This makes it a fantastic choice for those who prefer a smaller, less obtrusive knife. The handle, often made of a durable synthetic material, provides a comfortable and secure grip. While it lacks the fancy embellishments of more expensive knives, it's functional and built to withstand daily use. The IMP22's simplicity is its strength. There are no complex mechanisms or unnecessary features. It's a straightforward tool designed for straightforward tasks. This makes it incredibly reliable and easy to use. For anyone looking for a budget-friendly, no-nonsense pocket knife, the Imperial IMP22 Sodbuster Jr. is an excellent choice. It's a testament to the enduring appeal of classic design and practical functionality. It's a small knife that punches well above its weight.

Very nice knife
Look, I collect knives i have for close to fifty years. Many I own are very old ans many are new, well known brands. I use most of my knives. And I often purchase knives that are low cost, and watch them elevate in price over time. I purchased these knives for my grandsons. To be honest I was shocked at the fit and finish. I found then superior to knives that cost much more.
