It can detect obvious fakes like hollywood set money, but I dunno how it stands up to other counterfeits. It runs the bills cleanly and quickly and doesn't spit bills everywhere. I haven't had to adjust anything for it, have used it for over a year and haven't had any problems. buttons aren't too complicated and the screen is nice compared to a previous counter i used.
