This is exactly what I needed for the Herm Springer training collar, in the form of a quick release. It is really convenient, very durable and whoever thought of this should get free dessert for life! It works perfectly on both my German Shepherds for training and so convenient not having to squeeze the prongs just to put it around your dog's neck this is quick and secure. Review of Herm Sprenger ClicLock Fastener Stainless Steel Buckle for Prong Dog Training Collar & Quick Release with Easy Buckle for Medium Large Dogs (3.0/3.2mm) I bought this as a gift for the German Shepherd that belongs to my best friend. He is pictured wearing it with it fastened. He turned his head on the first try (but since he’s so handsome and we love him so much, it still shows the collar fastened). Ryker is in continuing training mode and learning socialization skills after just completing a 4-week course. The trainer recommended the Sprenger collar and I ordered this easy-to-use buckle since the collar by itself can be difficult for some to put on and remove. One must squeeze the metal prongs inward to do this, and since the metal is stout, it can be difficult. This buckle eliminates the repetitive squeezing. This buckle replaces one of the existing clips. I am impressed with it. It provides a sliding cover to reveal and protect the button that is depressed to remove the collar. Now all my friend has to do is snap the two sides together. It feels heavy duty and durable. I can only assume at this point that it will withstand the elements and not rust. I felt the price was reasonable, especially given the brand name. It was very easy to put into place and use. It feels very secure. No instructions come with this. There are instructions pictured on the sales page. I ordered the wrong size to begin with, so have a metric measure handy unless you are fortunate enough to have the prong size on your Sprenger collar package; we were not.

This was a much needed addition to our herm sprenger collar. It makes putting the collar on and taking it off easier. I have it 4 stars because the plastic guard that is supposed to sit over the button kept falling off when the collar was unclipped. We ended up just leaving it off. It seems fine, but would have preferred to have the guard in place as intended. Only other thing I didn’t realize is that with the style of collar we have for our dog there is only one place you can put this clip, which is where the two directions of prongs meet. There is no way to change it but I wish the connection could be towards the top of the collar so we’re not trying to clip it together at the underneath of our dogs neck.

This buckle works great for putting the prong collar on/off the dog. I can't imagine having to unlock the links, especially on a large, heavy duty collar. We took the protective cover off to make it easier to use. In cold weather, it was extremely hard to use, and the spring lock is so tight really isn't necessary. Even though somewhat expensive, it makes using the collar so much easier and as we walk our dog several times a day, almost a necessity.

Easy to assemble onto my collar. Easy to put on and take off.

Bought the prong collar without the easy-release clasp because videos made it seem easy to take on and off. With my puppy squirming around and a current injury to a finger, I needed this clasp. It was easy to add to the prong collar to the links. It is a bit clunky for the 2.25 links and the short length of my puppy's prong collar. Yet, that is minor as he'll grow. Very happy for my fingers that the clasp makes easy work on putting the collar on and taking it off. Others have mentioned that the slide moves around, but the one I have slides smoothly back and forth, as well as holds in place. Very secure...I don't worry about it coming undone while on my puppy.

Oh how I wish I had known about this sooner. The arthritis in my hands made it near impossible to pinch the collar’s prongs. And my poor puppy would cower whenever I tried to get her in or out of the collar. Now it takes me a second to put the collar on or take it off. It literally put the joy back into going for a walk. And any fears that I had about the clip accidentally coming undone were quickly set aside when I saw how it’s made. It has a built in guard which slides over the release mechanism. I highly recommend this clip. It’s a game changer😊 Update: After using this clip for about 6 weeks a problem has developed. The plastic guard which slides over the release mechanism has worn loose and now falls off when I’m putting the collar on the dog. To prevent this I have to hold the clip in place while I fasten the collar. It almost requires three hands. To be honest, it’s a pain in the butt. However, once the collar is fastened the clip and guard work well. It seems to be a design flaw.

WOW!!! I wish I had of known of this buckle earlier. I have a German Shepherd and a Norwegian Elkhound who used to think I was a kite on the end of a string...not anymore. This makes it so easy to put on and remove. Thank you Herm Sprenger.
