Don't get put off by the stated dimensions. It may be a little larger than other egg slicers, but it's not the size stated. I got this because it's made by Kitchen Aid which I know generally makes a good product. I thought it might be big but I like the brand. I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the package to find that the actual dimensions at 5 3/4" when folded in half (which is most of the time) and 10" only when fully laid out open. That is not the normal storing area though. Even though it's slightly larger than others when folded it's still a very good size. The opening for the hard boiled egg (or mushroom or whatever you're slicing) is large so a jumbo egg easily fits there with some room left over. The device is sturdy with a rubber gasket on the bottom that keeps the slicer from moving around on the table. Because of it's size, I can also put it over a bowl to catch the egg rather than using a cutting board which would need to be cleaned. So it actually saves work this way. It also easily cuts through a hard boiled egg without any extra effort. I would definitely recommend getting this model if you're looking for an egg slicer. You won't need to replace it so fast.

Works well, nice even slices. easy clean

The egg slicer also cuts bananas and other things so it is very versatile. It is sturdy and I can throw it in the dishwasher after use just fine. The speed it slices through is good. The material it is made with is good quality plastic. Not thin The size is right. I like the slicer very much. Nice uniformed cuts. I have enclosed pictures so you can make an informed decision based on your own personal needs. Yes, I would recommend this product.

Great egg slicer! For a small kitchen item, it packs a lot of power. Easy to use, great grip and doesn't slide on the counter, make perfect slices every time. Oh, and... Easy to clean.

It cuts nicely but it’s smaller than what I expected. I usually buy size large eggs and it barely fits. It cuts strawberries and kiwi beautifully. Same for mushrooms. Would have given a 5* if it was a little bit bigger and if it came with a little brush to clean between ea blade.

I know that boiled eggs are good for me. I can eat them most of the time, but some days a 'naked egg' is just not going down. I ordered a new slicer so I can serve the egg with some 'frills' and add a more appetizing appearance. This slicer has been doing well in the dishwasher, the blades are sharp and I like the way the egg can be place either direction for slicing. It is versatile. The plastic material seems quite strong, though I try not to abuse an egg slicer.

Finally had to retire my other KitchenAid egg slicer. I am in love with the new one, bigger and with a rubber grip on the bottom it is great !!! I love KitchenAid products . By the way my other one was over 4 years old!!!

Me encantó este producto. La parte plástica es muy resistente y de buena calidad. Los alambres coinciden perfectamente en las ranuras al cortar el huevo e igualmente son muy resistentes. He probado con otros y al segundo uso los alambres se aflojan o se rompen. Con este producto ha sido dieferente ya que lo uso muy frecuentemente y se mantiene como nuevo. Lo recomiendo.
