Makes tasty thick yogurt
Really good healthy culture, makes a thick, tasty greek yogurt, when strained, and if you save 1/2 cup back, you can make a whole gallon pf yogurt again. Wish it was not so expensive. Don't overheat when mixing and do not disturb while setting.

good culture
I was afraid that this product was not gonna work since there are lots of negative reviews. I made two 3 batches of yogurt, 1st one was failed, the second one was failed, but I able to salvage it and made pasmessan cheese. The third one was a success. The main problem with mine was I didn't have a yogurt maker and just took strangers advice in YouTube lol, my bad. I used the oven to warm it but since the oven heat didn't last and after few hours the oven was not warm anymore. The third batch was put in ceramic pot, ceramic retains heat so it was a success. The other two was just put on a glass container. To be honest, I didn't even think of that until now lol. Today I purchased an instapot to make a yogurt so I won't cry for a spoil milk anymore ๐ Overall, the Yogurt Cultures work, but it still depends something on few factors, when it too hot, the culture die, when it's too cold, the culture won't ferment. Sometimes, it's not the product was the problem, the problem was the temperature instability and inconsistencies. By the way, my kids, was crazy with my homemade yogurt.

Eight different batches taste like milk that sat around too long
Well, it seems to be curdling, but the taste is so bland it canโt actually be producing anything. Their l. Reuteri was really good. I must say and Iโm a fan of that one but I just canโt get this one taste good. This is the second set I have bought from them and none of them have turned out good. I am just about done wasting money on these guys because theyโre a little expensive as it is. Also, it delivered late. I gotta look for a phone number and of course they donโt have one. I would like to know if this is normal or not but their customer service is obviously nonexistent. Iโm done with this one.

May impart a yeasty taste
This is a good blend of good probiotics. However, for yogurt it may impart a yeasty taste (according to Michelle Schoffro-Cook's book, The Cultured Cook. I have found this to be true, and am going back to using probiotic capsules that contain only Lactobacillus varieties, or Bulgaricus. The culprit in the mix, says Cook, is the S. Thermophilus (S. being saccharomyces - a yeast).
