My head is just about 22" around and this hat fits perfectly mid brow comfortably over my ears with no adjustments and I have thick hair tied into a side braid. The slight crease on each side of the brow from being folded for packaging actually is advantageous for wearing because it causes the back brim to stay lower a bit so it fully covers your neck area from being sun exposed. Very soft and so light for summer in the desert YAY. No paper lining issue anywhere like 1 reviewer experienced, only cloth & a little mesh. Brim is wide enough for coverage and function, any wider on this hat style and it would cause back of brim to hit your neck/upper back too much and create a free movement obstacle. LOVE the stiff brim!!! So pleased. I bought 2 and happy to buy more when needed.

I’m an outdoor associate at a gas station/car wash in the south with hot summers. 1st Worn today! Perfect! I’m thrilled with it. Fits well and is comfortable! Sun shield is great. Color of item lets folks find me quickly as needed. The chin strap is comfortable, wasn’t sure about that but am glad I got this. It’s lightweight and made very well so I’m sure it’s going to be durable in my 8 hour outdoor shifts.

Let me start by saying the quality is very good, I love that it is packable, and it looks good. I have ordered this same hat in the past, as I loved the camo print. When I ordered it this time around, I received a black hat with no camo print. I don't know if the company does not offer the black camo any longer or it was just an error. I needed it for immediate use so sadly I did not have the opportunity to inquire/return.

I had a similar hat to this one but found the brim was falling into my face when it was windy. Walking on the beach with the hat falling in my face was so annoying. The brim is firm enough to stay in place, has great sun protection, and fitted for a pony tail. The chin strap is perfect for keeping the hat on my head when it’s windy! I love the color too.

It's nice and bright and has reflectors. I bought it for gardening, but it also comes in handy for going for walks in the neighborhood. We have no sidewalks, so you want to be as visible as possible. This certainly helps. The day I got it, went for a walk and it was very windy, but the strap kept the hat on my head. I like the ventilation, too. Helps with the heat.

The wide brim is not floppy but sturdy. I had to roll it up several times to get the stiffness loosened up and once it was the way I liked it I really like it. It fits nicely.

I would give this more stars if the brim were truly 3.75” all around. It’s a functional hat. But I don’t appreciate that the hats in the pictures look like they are in fact 3.75” but the hat they sell is not. So it does provide some coverage of the ears, which is good, and the pony-tail hole in the back is great. But with the narrow brim it sends more disheveled- fishing-hat-vibes, which is not what I’m going for. To be honest, when I’ve looked in the mirror I’ve said “meh” out loud. Worse when I’m walking the dog and the disheveled grampa hat is combined with multi-pocketed pants or shorts jammed with everything I could possibly need for a dog walk (eg poop bags, hand sanitizer—after opening trash cans or dealing with the odd complication), a bag of kibble for treats, tissues, phone… unattractively bulging, in other words). It looks even worse on a windy day, when I need the chin strap. And you DO need the chin strap on a windy day, since it blows off without it but still remains kinda stuck on your ponytail. I know the whole bad ensemble look isn’t entirely the hat’s fault, but the hat IS the unappealing topper that doesn’t even block out much sun for all that. The brim is about 3.75” in the BACK only—where I don’t’ really need the extra width. It’s barely 3.25” in the front, and it’s only 3” on the sides. That’s the problem. They skimped, and the result is that it looks like grampa’s fishing bucket hat, AND it fails to keep the sun off my face, unless it’s directly overhead. Other than that it’s a good hat. I might have given it 4 stars if the product information were not misleading and deceptive. Like I said, the ponytail hole in the back is great. Doesn’t look bad, does the job. It has an adjustment to the band that’s easy to work with and effective. The color is also a bit lighter than the picture would indicate. I would prefer it a little darker, more like the picture. I had also purchased one that was light blue, but the actual color was off-white. I had to return that one. Another positive is that it is nice when there’s a breeze. I can actually feel the breeze through the hat. Kinda nice.

I absolutely love this GearTop hat. I purchased it because my doctor told me to wear sunscreen protection and specifically to wear a wide brimmed hat. I have tons of regular trucker style/baseball style hats, but needed a wide brim. This hat looks great. The color is perfect - not too light so it won’t get dirty and not too dark so it won’t absorb heat. The fit of the hat is also perfect for my large sized head (just as the fitment chart said). It is very lightweight so you’ll barely notice it on your head - no real extra weight whatsoever. The drawstring serves as both an adjustment for sizing as well as a way to lock the drawstring under your chin to keep it even more in place for those really windy days. So far I haven’t needed to lock in place as the hat fits so well. The thing that really sold me on this hat is the ventilation system. I hate hats that make your hotter and don’t ventilate well. This has ventilates amazingly because the circumference area on the upper part of the hat has a mesh that allows for airflow in and heat out. Everyone also thinks that I look pretty good in this hat as I get many compliments so far. The UVF of 50+ in the fabric is also perfect as many of the sun’s rays can get through most clothing. I truly cannot think of a better quality made hat that stays attractive. This hat ticks all the boxes for the perfect hat. Absolutely an emphatic recommend for anyone looking for a great sun hat, hiking hat, gardening hat, etc.

I absolutely love this hat! The quality is outstanding—honestly better than I expected. The packaging alone impressed me; it came in a box so nice that I still keep it (better than some luxury brands like Louis Vuitton!). The hat itself is lightweight, bendable, and very easy to pack in my bag, which makes it perfect for travel or outdoor activities. It’s also easy to clean, which is a big plus. When it comes to sun protection, this hat does it all. The wide brim gives excellent coverage, shielding my neck, back, and front from the sun. I feel fully protected without feeling hot or heavy. Truly the best investment ever for anyone who spends time outdoors. Highly recommend it!

I love these hats! They breath but have a good weighted brim so it holds its shape. I love the secret pocket in the head area, I was able to hide money in there while traveling. You can also put a maluable freezer pack there to keep you cool. You can adjust the tightness of the hat with a draw cord at the back but the size is perfect for me as it. I love that it also has the chin strap. You can tuck it in if you don't need it. I've worn both the khaki and the green hat everyday for weeks while backpacking in the sun and, even after washing them, they both still look new. The fabric and stitching are top quality. Great find and great price. Shipping was really fast as well. I highly recommend!

Very good for nose and face protection.

Having recently been diagnosed with lupus, I have to avoid the sun at all costs. I wear this hat everywhere. I added a couple of my own touches (silver Celtic beads on the chin strap) to make it feel a bit less sporty and a bit more fashionable, but *every* single time I wear this hat, people I meet on the street compliment me on how it looks. I can wear it with casual clothes, but I feel just as comfortable wearing it with a summer dress. The strap keeps it firmly in place even on the windiest days, and it offers amazing protection from the sun. So glad I took the chance on this hat.
