Sturdy and well made
I love these hose holders. The box is sturdy and looks great! The only thing I wish it had would be a hose guide for rolling it back in

Nice, but scratches too easily
It was easy to assemble and I like that it comes with spikes to affix to the grass if you need to. One issue - it scratches way too easily. Otherwise, looks good, well made, and does what it's supposed to do.

Sturdy hose storage that works well and is built to last
Solid Hose Storage That Actually Works After going through a couple of flimsy hose reels that either leaked or tipped over every time I used them, I finally landed on this one—and I’m honestly impressed. It’s sturdy, looks great tucked into the corner of our garden, and holds our full-length hose (200 feet!) without any issues. One of my favorite things? The little foot pedal on the front. It might not seem like a big deal, but when you’re trying to reel in a long, heavy hose, having that extra stability makes a huge difference. It stays put—no wobbling or dragging. There’s no hose guide, but honestly, I’ve never found those helpful anyway. They usually get stuck or don’t line up when the hose is long, so I actually prefer not having one here. Winding the hose manually works just fine. Setup was quick, everything fit together nicely, and it hasn’t leaked once since we hooked it up. It’s also mostly metal, which I really appreciate after dealing with plastic parts breaking in the past. All in all, this reel is well-built, functional, and looks like it’ll hold up for the long haul. Would definitely recommend if you’re tired of hose storage that doesn’t live up to the hype.

Good looking hose reel box & works awesome!
Nice, sturdy, well looking & functional. Paired this with a nice new Flexzilla hose. Girlfriend loves it & it looks great out on the front side of our home.

It's Junk
Thought I was buying a metal hose reel. The exterior panels and lid are metal, the interior drum the hose winds on is plastic. Not good since that is where the stresses will be. Shorter in stature than my previous one, shorter handle too. So I have to bend over a bit more and wind like the devil to get the 100' of hose back in. No leaks to begin with which is good. It does look nice, my lid arrived with scuffs across it from rubbing against the cardboard. Noticeable but not bad enough to hassle with a return. So far, it does what it supposed to do. Update August 2024: I hate this hose reel. Hinge screws have rusted away. There is no hose guide so you have to guide the hose onto the reel with one hand while winding with the other. The hose gets stuck in between the cabinet interior and the the hose bib that connects the hose on the inside. I am always fighting with this piece of junk. Do not buy.

The most important part - the reel - is 100% plastic!
I was looking for a quality hose reel that would last a lifetime and I was willing to pay for that. There are so many mentions of this being a quality metal product that never in my wildest dreams did I think that the part that takes the most abuse - the reel - would be plastic. "Oh well, it's here, might as well assemble it" I thought to myself, and about 10 mins later I had a very frustrating hose reel that would not hold a 100 foot hose much less a 200 foot one. The issue is that there is no "guide" like the others have, which makes sure that when you are rolling up the hose it is evenly distributed across the reel. It bunches and twists and then scrapes the ground below the reel, refusing to turn anymore. So I'm returning this, frustrated, and sad that an American company based in North Carolina (which could use all our support right now after the hurricane) cheaped out on the most critical part of this hose reel, giving in to a $99 price point. Instead I am ordering a reel double the cost from a Chinese company. Very very sad folks.

Poor quality paint and more
Consider this a 3.5-star review. The main reason behind this purchase was the aluminum fittings (rather than plastic). Last year, I didn't drain my Suncast all-plastic reel well enough, and the fitting cracked, basically turning the whole unit into landfill food. What a waste, as there aren't replacement parts available. This box is fairly sturdy and reels up the hose nicely. But after just ONE summer on the south-facing side of my home, the black painted portions have faded terribly, giving it a cheapo low low-quality look. Not what I expected, considering it isn't cheap. The other thing I noticed is that the handle for the lid doesn't have any drain holes, so it just stays filled with rainwater. The manufacturer needs to implement drain holes in the handle and use a better quality paint on the black panels. Now I'll be stuck doing some sanding and painting this spring to make it look good again.
