Hyland's PRID Drawing Salve, Topical Skin Irritation Relief, For Splinters, Thorns, Ingrown Hairs, Itch Relief for Bug Bites, Boils, Minor Cuts and Scrapes, 18 Grams

This salve seems to be working for what I bought it for, in just a day the boil (or ingrown hair?) is noticeable smaller. It hasn’t come to a head yet so that I can switch to different skincare, but this product has made an impressive different after just one day and two applications. It’s true, the smell is not great, but it’s not terrible. Well it IS kinda terrible but what I mean is it’s tolerable- if you need this product its smell should be the least if your concerns, you’re not going to be using this often, it’s a remedy. What I find a little more difficult to deal with is application because this stuff is very very thick and hard to spread. You’ll scoop some out with a clean finger, it takes a little digging in to get it because it’s like a thick paste with a little brown sugar scrub type texture, and gently wiping it over the affected area will leave a lot of the product on your finger until you figure out how to kind to work it on, pressing gently, then spreading it on and learning when to stop for maximum coverage and staying. It’s kind of hard to work with in certain areas. Wouldn’t be as much of an issue on a hand or forearm for example. I’m impressed with the pain relief, it definitely soothed and relieved and it does seem like it will bring the issue to a head and draw it out within a few days which is decent. I’ve had similar infected skin bumps that stayed longer even with an antibiotic ointment, which does nothing to draw anything out. I’ll definitely be keeping some of this on hand. Seems like it will draw out the issue with use a couple of times per day, in 2-3 days. I had never heard of it before but this was recommended to me by several people so it must be as good as it seems. edit- Leaving my original review above unedited but changing from 4 to 5 stars and adding this: this stuff works! In 2 days what I needed to be drawn out was, and I was then able to heal the skin without infection. I am definitely keeping this product on hand! And the smell for anyone wondering, is sort of like tar.

This is a great item to keep in both my personal first aid kit and my chicken first aid kit. It is especially helpful for splinters, thorns, ingrown hairs, and I also find it useful as part of early care support for bumblefoot in chickens. It is one of those products you do not think about until you really need it, and then you are glad it is there. Very useful for minor emergencies at home and in the coop.

Great for helping get things out of your skin (pimples, gunk, splinter, etc)

This Hyland’s black salve works beautifully! I was removing thistles from our garden, took off my gloves, and found my thumb tip filled with those prickly, almost invisible sharp points! I applied the black salve twice, covered with a fabric bandage. They came out of my skin painlessly. I never used a product like this. It was my husband’s suggestion. I trust the Hyland name, which was why I purchase this item. Thank you Hyland for a product that does what it says it does! Your price point was half that of many other manufacturers offers! I highly recommend purchasing Hyland to keep in your first aid kit.

I’ve been using this product for years, and it never disappoints! It helped ease my cyst in just 3–5 days and brought it to a head, making it much more manageable. I applied it 2–3 times a day and used gauze to keep it in place. I’ve also had great results using it on boils and even stubborn ingrown hairs. It’s become a staple in my medicine cabinet, and I will definitely continue purchasing it. Highly recommend!

I love this stuff it works awesome , I had this bite on my leg that was trying to absences but I put this on and by morning it did not hurt anymore. but this batch is a little gritty

I've been meaning to buy this forever, and one day I finally remembered to do it. My timing could not have been more perfect, because just about a week after it arrived two of my kids got attacked by some sort of flying insect while playing outside. My son had multiple bites/stings on his neck, and my daughter had them on her thigh. My son was pretty hysterical, but after I applied the PRiD salve and turned on his favorite show, he calmed down within 5-10 minutes and ended up falling asleep! This salve was extremely helpful in taking away the sting and helped their wounds heal much quicker. By the next day, I couldn't even see the marks from the bites/stings, and they had been very swollen and red at the time they occurred.
