This case is sort of a combination 'hard-shell / leather folio' type. The plastic component wraps around the outside of the Kobo giving the protection I need on the corners of the device (in my experience, that's the part that gets hammered when I drop a device like this), and the leather gives a good feel to the outside. Note that the blue clasp is actually a protective sticker over steel, so it's actually black + chrome in appearance. The downside? The back looks a little low rent. They glued the leather onto an inset in the plastic hardcase, and while it'll work perfectly it's a bit naff to have nice leather surrounded by plastic. The case does add a little bulk to the reader - I can't fit it into my back pocket now But on the whole, very happy with it especially given the price & that it's jut about the only one I've found that actually protects the corner of the Kobo Aura HD. Recommended.

The product picture is somewhat misleading: the metal plate on the black case is not the odd-looking teal pictured. The teal is a protective film easily peeled off to reveal a nice-looking stainless steel plate.The quality is generally high for the price range, and the case is slimmer than I expected. The auto sleep/wake works perfectly. I've not experienced the accidental sleep problem another review described, even when purposely trying to reproduce it. The cover folds back nicely for reading. The magnetic closure is very secure.The only down side is weight -- I'd have liked a lighter case -- however I'd also expect a lighter case to cost more, so I'll not take any stars away for that.

This was the second cover I got for my Kobo and much happier with it. The price is right and the quality is pretty good. Leather outside is nice and the inside fits the Kobo VERY well. The auto sleep mode works seamlessly.I would recommend this (especially as the cover from the Kobo site is $50. Maybe it gives you back rubs too? ;)

Case is a bit too small to fit the H2O, scratched it a bit on the corner trying to force it.Not that it claims to or anything, just posting a warning here in case anyone else wanted to take their chances like I did.

Arrived in damaged condition, a big indentation on the front cover (transport damage), the badly fitted magnet causes scratch marks on the metal plate of the cover (design failure). Corrosion expected there? The envelope did not give sufficient protection for this sensitive product, the design failure must be corrected by the maker. My luck that I ordered a standing cover too

The workmanship of this product is just great for this price point. The faux leather doesn't look cheap and plastic bezel into which the Kobo Aura HD fits is rugged enough to save your device if you happen to drop it accidentally . The sleep cover function works well. I would definitely recommend it.

The cardboard under the front flap is really thin. I can tell the product won't last very long after using it for a few months, but it's ok for the price.

Best cover! This cover has extended my battery. Even when I leave the light on, the power to the ereader shuts within 10 seconds of closing the case, unlike others I have tried. Love this cover!

The cover was exactly as I expected. Good price and was good quality. Better priced than those sold by KOBO.

Feels very nice, the swinging door allows me to read in bed very easily. No issues at all with this thing.Take note: in the picture the piece of metal on the cover is not blue, it is silver (like stainless steel). The blue is a covering to protect the metal from scratches while being shipped.

Fits the Aura HD perfectly and the sleep function works well. Very good cover for the e-reader.

I just wanted to say that this product is great! And the best is the price! Beats having to pay $50 dollars.Also it came way before the expected delivery date so that was a bonus. Over all fantastic!
