STAEDTLER Mars Lumograph Black Artist Wooden Lead Pencil - Box of 6 (8B 6B 4B 4B 2B 2B) in Metal Box- With Tub 2-Hole Sharpener and Free Eraser

I have been using Staedtler pencils and other Staedtler products for a few years. I bought this set of pencils for the pencils storage case. It takes up less room on the drawing desk and it is handy to work from when I am using wooden pencils until they get short. The pencils in it are top notch as they usually are with Staedtler. I will put them in storage as replacements for my existing pencils. I put my 6B up to 4H Staedtler pencils in the case that is the range that I normally work from. I do not use wood pencils as much anymore. I now do much of my graphite drawing with the Staedtler or Uni line of 2 mm leads and holders. I do my more detailed parts of a drawing with .5 mm Pentel leads since Staedtler does not offer a complete line of .5 mm leads. For me the 2 mm leads are also the best thing to use for shading in background on a drawing. The Staedtler and Pentels seam to be very close if not the same color intensity on paper. So they both work well for me. Unis are a darker softer lead.The Staedtler pencils are considered the best for "underdrawing". This would be the sketch that is faintly drawn to show layout of the painting that is about to be painted over it. For graphite pencil art where near photo quality drawings are desired. The Mitsubishi Hi Uni is the best pencil. For sketching the Faber Castell pencils are preferred since they are a harder lead the means less smudging.

I have used these for years, really like them and the way they come in so many hard and soft versions. Good for those who work in graphite artwork.

What a great way for storage and ease of use to package pencils. I bought this set to compare with a couple of other highly rated graphite pencils, and I am really enjoying these, so far. I am amazed in that I have not even used a darker # than 2B, so far on this drawing. I intend to do another drawing of exactly the same subject with 2 more highly rated graphite pencils for comparison, but also because in my experience, it is more economical and efficient to buy exactly the items one uses; i.e., I may find I like the 2B, in one brand, an H or an F in another, and a 6B in yet another. I intend to post my assessments as i learn about graphite pencils here, so keep tuned.

Very nice case and each has easy to see designation for the shade they draw with a chart on the label.I'm using them for testing alloys for Brinell hardness .

Very high quality pencils for the price and a wide range of hardness. The plastic case is an added bonus.

These pencils are making miraculous strokes and it's soft while shading. Very nice and particularly 7B pencil gives more dark shade than 8B.

They are to good but costly

The title on Amazon page clearly stated it's Staedtler/Germany Mars Lumograph. Also, the descriptions says its 12 Degree Set (6H, 4H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 6B, 7B, 8B).However, when the actual product was delivered to us, the packaging said country of origin as China. Also it was a set of 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 7B, 8B.

Fake Staedtler Pencils Made in China.Real one are made in Germany. Fake product.
