depth in center is 6" , diameter is 22" not including handles (26" with handles)

does this wok get rust on it

Yes. I f you don't season it properly and keep oil on it in between uses. I've lived to China and this is the exact same wok what they use there. if you are only going to use it occasionally then you do not want to have this wok.

Do you need to use a wok rack with this?

The only time a wok rack could be used is when you deep fry items, when finished place the item(s) on the rack to drain excess oil and it falls back into the wok. I just use a platter lined with paper towels.
