The trick
The trick to successful laundering with the pods is washing everything with warm water, not coldI wash even my black linens in this & add a scoop of the oxygen bleach stain remover powder before hitting the start button & my blacks dont fade The oxygen bleach despite its smell does not fade darks like a normal bleach wouldThe pods are also effective alone if you are not an oily person If you have to launder in cold i would suggest their liquid formulasI have been a loyal user of these laundry products for years as they are ultra skin safe After two or so washes i would notice they removed the film from store bought mainstream brands that were designed to stainguard your clothes That film would irritate my skin but also ive noticed my clothes just felt so much more clean after switchingAs a bonus my deo does not stain the pits of my shirts when i use aspen clean It would react with mainstream store brought brands to leave nasty yellow stains Once those are in clothes they really do not come outIf a couple pods arrive broken i just use my oxygen bleach scoop to spoon the loose powder over my laundry.. it works the same as tossing in a podAspen clean fan for life 🧜♀️ 🍃

Punctured pods upon opening
I ordered this laundry detergent on February 20th because my other detergent (a different brand) was running low. I used to use this brand and I was excited to use them again. I just now opened it today after my other detergent ran out and every single bag was punctured and falling apart and all the detergent was just left in a pile. As I dig through there is so many plastic pieces and not a single pod is intact. I’m highly disappointed because I’m now past the return window and have no other laundry detergent to use at the moment. This has never happened to me with this brand before so it might just be a bad batch but I’m still very disappointed.

Yes Yes YES!!!
Wow. Where do I even start.I have tried a LOT of detergents. And most of the other laundry detergents I never could try because of the crazy strong fake flower smells. What I love:EWG rating. (Does not poison Aquatic life, does not cause cancer, does not cause reproductive harm, and no plastic.) ... I feel like all laundry should have these requirements but this is the only one I have found that actually cleans.Does not bug my nose when I open the container, when it is sudsing up the clothes for the water to clean them, when the clothes are in the dryer drying OR when I have them on my body. ( Note: Tide will have my throat titning at each of these stages and I am usually coughing over and over again because I am that sensitive.)Our sensitive skin family has never had a problom with this product. Even babies. I clean our cloth diapers with this soap and never have needed to strip them because the soup does not leave any buildup. And I love the pods after having to deep clean our previously used washer mechine due to liquid detergent being caked on it.(inside and out. It was so bad the clothes had a hard time getting clean due to the damage that detergent did to that mechine.)I always batch buy on black Friday as those are the best deals of the year. (20-30% off yes please)Amazon does free shipping so it is cheeper to buy on the site rather then the Aspen Clean website as they no longer offer my address free shipping.Down sides are 1: If I order from Amazon sometimes the pod rappers have devolved leaving the soap as non contained powder at the bottom of the container (assuming from a slight moisture problom in the warehouses .) But I have always just shaked the soap in the washer after using the full pods and it all works in the end. I am fine with this as I am saving money through buying from amazon.Downside 2: I find that I need to run laundry on warm water to get a really good clean. But I have also found that cleaning with warm water just cleans better in gAmazon.10 out of 10.

Product has arrived damaged twice, with half of the pods emptied into the container.
This product tops the Environmental Working Group's list of safe (for humans and the environment) laundry detergents and also came up on another list of safe and effective detergents. As far as I can tell, it works pretty well. However, I have received two shipments of this product from Amazon, and both times, about half of the laundry pods were empty, with the detergent having spilled out over the other pods in the container. I dealt with it the first time by dusting off the remaining pods and using a small scoop to add the spilled detergent to my washing machine loads, but since it wasn't a one-off, I am returning my second shipment and canceling my subscription. I don't know whether it's because of how it's being stored or shipped via Amazon or it comes to them that way. I may try to order directly from Aspen to find out, but I will not order this product from Amazon again.

Eco-Friendly and Skin-Safe, But Pricey for Everyday Use
I love what AspenClean stands for—it is plant—based, zero—plastic, and safe for sensitive skin (even with psoriasis). The pods dissolve well and leave no residue, and my clothes feel genuinely clean without synthetic scents. I even trust them with outdoor clothes and delicate fabrics. That said, the price is a bit high for regular use. I wish there were bulk options or more affordable refills to make this sustainable choice more accessible. Still, these pods are a solid win for anyone prioritizing clean ingredients and eco packaging.

Cleans well, laundry finally smells like NOTHING! :-). Scent doesn't stay
Update: tried both the lavender and the eucalyptus scents. Neither scent lingers for very long at all. On one occasion, I did receive a shipment with broken pods, but that didn't bother me much. It seems when I order only detergent and nothing else from Amazon, the product ships straight from the factory and is fresh and in good shape. Otherwise, it might come from a warehouse somewhere and be older, hence the dried out pods? Who knows.***Overall, I am very happy with the performance of this laundry detergent. The pods arrived, shipped directly from Aspen Clean, in great condition. They were intact; nothing was broken.I used one pod per load in my compact front loading washing machine and added vinegar instead of softener. There was no residue from detergent powder when the cycle was through. The pods seemed to have dissolved completely.I bought the unscented variety. The laundry smells great: like NOTHING at all! Even cotton t-shirts that usually have some sort of musty smell after being laundered smelled like NOTHING. I had that problem for years with some Lands' End shirts: I would wash them, and they'd smell really weird, even though they hadn't been particularly soiled. That smell is finally gone, thank goodness.I have tried other "green" detergents before (liquid ones), but they typically would leave my clothes smelling "musty" and unpleasant. Aspen leaves them smelling clean, without scent. If you have problem stains like tomato sauce or marker, you will still want to pre-treat them. I use a plant based stain remover spray from my regional grocery store chain. Even so, a shadow of the tomato sauce remained on the item. Maybe soaking might do the trick. The laundry even seems to dry faster, if that's possible. I line dry, and the first load already started to feel dry when I was finished with the fourth load.I will definitely reorder this product and am happy with its performance.

Clean brand
Great product, although there were some issues with pods being broken, I was still able to use the powder with a level scoop. It actually was a little easier. Well continue to purchase this brand. Trust that it is clean and toxic free. Cleans my clothes just fine. My job does not leave my clothes extremely dirty. So will have to update review when yard work season comes around.
