Worked shockingly well!
We have a kitchen table that we love, but it is constantly marred with big white blotches and rings from hot AND cold items (unless you put something thick like a magazine under your plate - pretty ridiculous). I don't know what kind of finish it has (poly or ?), but I was at the point of actually having to strip the table and re-stain and re-poly - not a job I was looking forward to. A friend said the table may have been waxed at some point and the white marks were possibly moisture trapped in the wax? "Here" he said, "Try this - I use it on my table after dinner parties" and he handed me an old used beat-up Homax package (He said he has been using the same cloth for over a year and it still works.) It contained a slightly-oily cloth that reminded me of my Mom's old dusting cloths. I was pretty skeptical - how could this kind-of-oily cloth repair all the damage to my table? But shockingly, it did! Even the giant white area where my husband left a big steaming hot plate and the finish actually looked melted. You just gently rub this cloth in the direction of the wood grain and the white spots gradually disappear. I think perhaps it is impregnated with some kind of liquid wax? I'm not sure, but it does seem to marvelously melt away white rings and and splotches as well as some finish damage with very little effort. ALL the white rings are completely gone. So I immediately bought a new one for myself. Though this product doesn't actually repair your table and it won't fix gouges and big scratches, it really made the damage almost invisible. White splotches and rings? All gone. The spot where the finish kind of melted from hubby's hot plate? Its still there and you can still feel it, but now you can hardly see it. It's barely noticeable now. So it's not a complete "cure" for your table, but it does remove white rings very well and does an excellent job of camouflaging many other imperfections. However, if gouges and deep scratches are your problem, this is probably not the right product for that. (I've had good luck with Old English Scratch Cover for gouges - again, not a repair, but a good camouflage. )

Best solution to a dumb move!
I normally don’t take the time to write a review but in this case it is more than warranted. The story starts off with me doing something stupid.(good stories usually do) I put a hot plate out of the microwave down on my coffee table. After a while I removed the plate and viola a deep ugly white ring burned into the coffee table! Ugh! After several minutes of self loathing I set out to right my wrong! First I looked at solutions, home iron, olive oil and vinegar (which i did use and did nothing) I needed professional help! So went to google, all kinds of these one use cloths for just my problem. Admittedly I wanted to get it local, tried Walmart and Home Depot both not in stock must order and ship $25 minimum shipping. Then I tried amazon, should have right from the start! Cheaper than Wally and free prime ship. I apologize to everyone for checking it last but success! So two days later the package arrived. I cleaned my ugly white ring with regular cleaner 409 I think. Dried the area. And opened the package! So basically the product is a tack emery cloth treated with a polishing compound. Not very impressive at first sight. The cause of a white ring on furniture is usually by water or heat burning moisture into the finish. So I commenced my project....I worked in a small area about an inch long going back and forth with the wood grain for about 3 minutes and OMG I saw fading of the ring!!!! So I worked and worked about a 3 inch section for about 10 minutes and had dimininished that section by 90%! I countinued on the rest of the ring overall taking about 45 minutes. Yes it takes time and YES I definitely works. The science behind the magic I’m assuming is a combination of the tack cloth type the polishing color mpound it’s soaked in and a lot of self created friction provided by yours truely. The friction created lifts out the moisture imbedded in the finish and the cloth and compound polished and finishes the area. Stupidly I did not take before and after pictures but it is 98% good as new. There was enough compound to give a quick treatment to the rest of the table fixing a light ring as well. Also I worked on another table we picked up at an auction. Which finished the top beautifully!!!! BUY THIS PRODUCT it’s fantastic! I’m sure there are types of finishes it may not work well on but for me it was fantastic!

Not a fast fix but it works
It will not work with a quick 1 time wipe. I had a large white ring on a wooden table. It took about 2 weeks but it did disappear. You have to be patient. I would rub firmly for about a minute on different parts of the ring. I kept the cloth handy and would rub for a minute a two a few times a day. I had also seen a recommendation on this site to use mayonaise. I found this worked as well so I alternated at times. Maybe the mayonaise would work alone but I can't really say. Perseverance is the key here!

It Works If You Pair It With Murphy’s Oil Soap!
I think reviews for products are better if you can show pictures of before and after, and unfortunately I lost faith in this product after only using it for 30 minutes so my pictures are not from the very beginning. The pros is that the remover cloth really does work but you have to be patient and it takes a lot of work by rubbing the area for hours. The white heat marks I had on my table was from 3-4 years ago and the cloth didn’t do anything when I originally started using it. After about 3 hours I noticed the stain getting lighter. The problem with the product is that the instructions say to rub gently until the stain disappears which was not true. You have to apply pressure with your fingertips and rub in different directions. Also, I suggest pouring Murphy’s Oil Soap to the heat stain or water ring and rub it in with your fingertips like you’re finger painting. Let it sit for about 15-20 and then go back and swirl it even more into the grain of wood. After about 30-40 min, wipe it off with a towel completely and then use the remover cloth to rub the stain out. Eventually, the stain will get lighter and lighter. Continue these steps until you’re satisfied. I worked on this for about 6 hours off and on and I can’t believe the stain is almost gone! I need another day to finish the rest.

Homax White Ring Remover
I ordered the Homax White Ring Remover to use on my oak dining room table. There were about eight white spots on it. This product did not work at all but later discovered that by using a hot hair dryer set on high heat about half an inch from the spot worked so well I was stunned by the outcome. After running the hair dryer back and forth over the spots, they just disappeared in front of my eyes. Only took about 20 minutes total to remove the white spots. THIS is the method I would recommend for anyone with this issue.

This item did not work!!!!!!
First let me say the company was very gracious when I contacted them to say their product did not work...at all! My dining room table (mahogany) had two white rings left on it because of two dishes which had very hot items in them. Even though I had placemats down under the dishes, I was shocked when I cleared table to clean up and big, white stains were now there, and I was very upset and shocked! I went to Home Depot and while there was nothing on their shelves to buy for this, there was "white ring remover" available through their internet; however the cost to ship it was over twice the price of the item!!, So, I found the item on Amazon and ordered it. The Homax treated "rag" did absolutely nothing to remove this white ring. I even tried it for some surface scratches (it mentions it helps with scratches also)... but that did nothing either. The company refunded my money and shipping, so I gave two stars because of their customer service. The item itself was useless for my problem.

best product out there
I tried to cover the stain, but that didn't work. I bought this and followed the rules I read on the internet, and its gone. And I mean gone. Just a little of muscle and continue to do it till removed. Only about 15 minutes for me. Love it. Love it.

This just saved my bacon..
I put a horrendous heat ring on my dad’s polished wooden and expensive dining room table. I left a bowl of chili yeah out of the micro wave directly on the table and not on the matt..he’s was not happy 😫 This has just removed it all, 100% gone, no white ring at all left and I did a couple other blemishes for him. Thank you 🙏
