If you're Apple remote won't pair with this Apple TV
If I'd looked at the reviews of this item closer, I probably would've passed on it for another seller. But I didn't... and I ordered 3 of them. Like many other reviews here, the remotes wouldn't pair (I tried all three of them I purchased. no dice). I tried everything. Here's the solution that actually works: Connect your Apple TV to ethernet, connect your iPhone (this is a requirement) to the same network, open the Apple TV app, connect to the newly found Apple TV, set everything up and go directly to settings->system->software updates->update software. This gets the Apple TV on a tvOS version that supports the remote that ships with these Apple TV's. (Note: you're doing this all with your iPhone as the remote). Once the Apple TV reboots, press and hold the back arrow and the volume up button on the remote control it was shipped with and boom! Paired (assuming you already charged the remote). Everything from there on out works like a dream.

Please don’t buy this product because it does not work I tried for 3 days charged all the remote I bought for of these. The owner hand write instructions lol crazy I’m sending this back today. It should take 3 days to try to figure out anything. I think this is from Temu.

Works just as engineered. I like buying older used electronics as they are usually cheaper. My experience with electronics is that they work or they don’t. Just send it back if it doesn’t work. … and they have always worked.

I can’t use the TV because the remote control won’t charge or turn on. The Apple TV looks like it’ll function but i can’t tell Update: i had to charge the remote for 2 days and then hold the proper buttons centimeters away from the box to work. I then had to turn the box off and on twice because it kept getting stuck in pair mode. Through it all, it does what i need it to do so i, updating to 4 stars. Google was my best friend
