Easy install, works great!
This works perfect to install a NVME drive into a 2014 Mac Mini. Came with all the hardware and even some adhesive to attach this to the Mac's drive caddy, a super simple install and has been working perfect!

Brought new life to a 12 year old Mac Mini!
I used this in conjunction with a new 512 GB SSD Drive (FANXIANG S500PRO) in my 2014 Mac Mini (1.4GHZ 4GB Ram 500 GB HHD). It turned my 12 year old Mac Mini into an awesome and fast little PC. Faster than it has ever been, even when it was new. No more freezing up... I only use my Mac Mini for basic stuff, email, YouTube, Web Browsing - and for these purposes its great. Web pages launch very quickly now... No more spinning beach balls. Hard to believe for a 12 year old Apple Mac Mini. Total cost less than $100 for the adapter and SSD drive. Note that I am using LINUX MINT as an operating system, and I am sure this contributes to the new experience on the Mac Mini.

Easy to fix!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This seams the right thing… just need to buy the M2 now when I will get the money. For now I have other priorities!

Needed to install MacOS (Monterey) in external Enclosure for the SSD to be recognized internally.
As the title of my review says, I needed to install MacOS Monterey (older MacOS might have also worked, at least to High Sierra) while it was in an External Enclosure, before my new Crucial 1TB SSD was recognized internally in the Mac Mini (2014) with this Adapter. I had first tried to just format my new Crucial 1TB SSD (properly) in an external enclosure, and then install the OS (in Recovery Mode) once both were in the Mac Mini, but the disk wasn’t recognized by Disk Utility. I also tried an already formatted Samsung SSD to rule out the Crucial SSD being the problem rather than this adapter. As a last resort (before trying a Sintech adapter instead) I decided to install the MacOS externally, then install it in the Mac Mini with this adapter. I also reset the PRAM during 1st startup (which may actually have been the “crucial” step:’). I don’t know why this was the case, but it was for me.

Immediate 200+ MB/s internal disk transfer increase over apple supplied SSD
Put this into my I7 2014 Mac Mini. Mine came stock with a drive already in the slot on top, but it was an M2 SATA drive. It had the factory installed adapter in place which I chose to completely remove in-tact in case I needed to revert to it if the drive I bought ever failed. Black magic speed tests on the factory were about 400-450 MB/s. It was also 256gb which to me was too small as I planned on installing Windows 10/11 on a bootcamp partition. I chose the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1tb drive and along with this adapter transformed the little mini. I now get 700+ MB/s. Huge increase which you can feel when launching apps. To do Windows 11, it's easiest just install Windows 10 first using the bootcamp assistant, then while booted into windows put a bootable windows 11 thumb drive in and run setup. You're going to have to edit the registry at the point where it says this device doesn't support Windows 11 and viola I'm now running windows 11 and yes you will be able to do windows updates without an issue. For anyone interested just google search "install windows 11 on an unsupported device using registry edit". The proper keys to hit on the mac keyboard are: shift + F10 to bring up the command prompt during the installation. Couldn't be happier with this, the increase in speed is a welcome upgrade and keeps this mac mini now viable.
