These are the best overall, they block almost all the racket (enough!), and are the most comfortable, and easiest to insert. 4 year update: These are still my favorite earplug, as far as comfort and noise reduction. I found if I push them in a bit further, they can cut 100% of the noise vs. say 80-90%, but after a while my narrower right ear gets a pain. I found if I use a small pair of scissors and carefully cut out either the biggest or just the middle flange (best for me), I get no pain all night, and still nearly 100% quiet, and with as many as you get in a pack, it is worth the experimentation, and you can shorten the "handles" a bit too if you like. I also take them to movie theaters, I've noticed a few that crank the sound up so loud that it is annoying to these old ears (73), just put them in loosely and adjust as needed (best to have them on strings which I don't normally use). I've also made an interesting discovery: I was in one theater where a cricket showed up, very annoying and distracting, but I found if I put the plugs in VERY loosely and adjust, I can cut the cricket sound 100%, w/o cutting the movie sound, almost miraculous, as if the first sound plugs muffle is the very high pitch of a cricket! There have been many times where after a while I hear absolutely no crickets, but otherwise everything else, so I pull the plugs out in case the crickets moved on, and there they are still, so back in they go! They work amazingly well to eliminate crickets, even a whole field of them! Maybe someone will invent an earplug for just this purpose... These still work well with 2 cats scratching and running, and on airplanes with crying babies, I don't fly w/o them, and I have a Bose QuietComfort 3 Noise Cancelling headset! Review: worth the money - These ear plugs are comfortable and block out some of the noise. I use them for playing saxophone and can tell it definitely takes the edge off of the loudness. I also use them routinely when tending my flock of guinea hens (let me tell you guineas are REALLY loud) and these earplugs make it more bearable to be working in the hen house. I love that these earplugs have that connecting string so they can just hang around my neck. Otherwise I know I would have lost lots of them by this time because I would have had to be putting them in and out of my pockets while wearing gloves or mittens. When they first came I assumed that the ear plugs themselves would easily get yanked off of the string like when I take my scarf off while forgetting that I still have the earplugs in my ears. But surprisingly these things have held up well with using them a few times every day for the past couple of weeks. No, of course they don't block all the noise that a really expensive pair of earplugs might. But they do help and for the money they seem like a good buy.

Very comfortable and effective
I am impressed with the comfort and the sound isolation these earplugs provide. I can sleep all afternoon with them in and they don't particularly bother me to wear them for an extended period. I've slept with them in for four hours straight without problems. They seem to have very good sound isolation, which can be varied by how far they are inserted into the ear. Insert just a little bit and you can still hear things around you, they're just muffled a bit. Insert them a bit more deeply and they do an excellent job of excluding the sound of lawn mowers right outside my open window. I think that they would probably be effective hearing protection when shooting. They are comfortable and stay in with out any trouble. They are soft and flexible and seem quite durable. They also clean easily and I see no reason why each pair should not last for a considerable period of time, making these earplugs very cost effective over time. They have sufficiently long stems that they are easy to insert and remove, even if you have short thick fingers like I have. The stems are long enough that I don't think they would be difficult to remove even if inserted too deeply. I have noticed one potential issue. The cord that connects each set will pull out of the stem relatively easily, though it is simple enough to reinsert into the stem as long as you haven't lost the loose plug in the meantime. I am using them in a fairly noisy environment to allow me to sleep during the day and I am quite pleased with them.

Good ear plugs if you like this type
I always remove the cord by pulling it out of the plugs. I don't like it dangling.

Very soft and comfortable. Works really well!!!
I use ear plugs every night. I have to. I live in an apartment building and the main back door is right below us. The elevator is across the hall. We’re on the second floor so we hear slamming doors above and below us. And don’t get me started on the barking dogs! A few weeks back I was in a rehab in a semiprivate room and let me tell you, between my roommate and the constant parade of staff I was in need of your product. I ordered them from Rehab. Once I got home I realized how much better they are than the ones I had here at home. They are so soft and pliable and fit in my ears with a gentle push. There is a string that goes around your neck so that if one falls out, you won’t lose it. Strings are securely fastened to the plugs. It’s not like I’ll need all 12 pairs but heck, it’s great deal!!! Enjoy!!!

Work great
These are an excellent purchase... really cut down noise level... I have used them while operating lawn tractors and lawn mowers and they work great when inserted properly. They are soft ,and comfortable.... Like the string that allows you to have them hanging around your neck before use and after your done using, the little plastic storage boxes with metal clasp chains allows you to attach a set of these on the items you use these for making them right there on the device when your ready to use it. I threw a set in the storage box for my chain saw so that is now covered also with ease. Snow blower will get a set when I get it ready for winter.

Work great, but too big for my ears
These work well at blocking noise and the string is a convenient way to keep them together. It's also a great price. My problem is they're a bit too wide for my ear canal, so after a while, the pressure hurts. I bought them to sleep in, but can't use them for more than a short time. I wish they came in a smaller size! These will be awesome if your ear canals aren't small.

Durable multiuse hearing protection, competitively priced
I use these whenever I ride my motorcycle, which is nearly a daily occurrence and I also wear them under my earmuffs when shooting. While they significantly reduce wind, road, and motor noise when riding my bike, I was pleasantly surprised that they enhance my ability to hear my music played over the bike's speakers. The effect for me is similar to that of my electronically noise cancelling earmuffs that I wear when I go shooting, in as much as I can hear what I need to hear such as range commands, and still have my hearing protected from the sound of gunfire. I have also found this to be the case when working with power tools such as saws, grinders, and sanders or working on motor vehicles while they are running. They seem best suited for extended exposure to low frequency noise generated by common power tools and machinery than short, sharp, higher frequency noise generated by gun shots, powder actuated tools, and pneumatic impact tools.
