Can this be worn with a beard?

Accepted Answer

That depends on how long is the hair of your beard. If your beard is merely  one to one and a half inch like mine you can wear with no problem. If longer than 1"-1 1/2" , you will still be able to wear it but the excess hair will be trailing outside as the shield is designed for dust protection not fire protection where you can't wear it anything on top of your beard. It's worth mentioning here that you can also wear glasses under the shield comfortably.

Question 2

My 6 month old facesheild doesn't turn on easily and now scarcely turns on.  It started about two months ago.  What is wrong?

I haven't had that problem but, if the other answer that I see can't solve the problem, I suggest that you send an email to the address shown on the user manual and explain the problem.  I had a different problem (broken headband after a short amount of use) and they responded the next day and sent me a new headband for free.  Based on that one-time interaction, they have very good customer relations.

Question 3

Can  this shield use a hepa filter?

If you want HEPA get a PAPR (more expensive) or a respirator (less expensive) with P-100 filters.  The good thing about that is depending on the model, you can also get cartridges that provide HEPA AND chemical filtration (paint, stain, other vapors) if you want.   I have a PAPR and various respirators for different purposes.  I was looking at this to keep on hand for visitors to my shop without buying another PAPR.  I'm undecided due to the filtration.  Might just get another respirator and some eye protection.

Does this filter out fumes working with CA glue?

Accepted Answer

The filters in the Airshield Pro are designed for particles such as dust etc. The filters will filter out some of the vapor that is given off from CA glue but they are not vapor filters. It is the same as trying to use the Airshield Pro for spray painting, the filters are not designed for moist particulates such as paint over spray or the fumes associated with spray painting, the filters will just clog up. It is always advisable to use any chemicals in a well ventilated area and this would include CA glue.
