CeraVe Eye Makeup Remover, Hyaluronic Acid Gentle Waterproof Formula, 4 Oz

This is so much better than other 2-part eye makeup removers I've tried, which you have to shake before using. It's also a lot less expensive than Lancome, etc. This one removes the eye makeup very gently, and then washes off cleanly. The one thing I don't like is that you have to push down the lid to unscrew it. The plastic bottle is really light and the opening is large - so I'm at risk of spilling it every time. I wish it came with a pump dispenser. I found using a cotton ball seemed to waste a lot of product, so I just poured a little onto my cupped fingers (it's very thin) and massaged onto my mascara, then wiped with a tissue before washing my face. Very affordable, good product.

This product is great! It takes away mascara very well, after a few seconds removing it with a cotton pad. But, if this product goes into your eyes ITS EXTREMELY PAINFUL. The pain will remain for a few hours even after you rinse your eye with water. The problem is with mascaras, they are sold and marketed as washable, but they are not.

I only wear waterproof anything in the summer, and I forget how difficult it is to remove. In the past, I've used more oil based products, but they have begun to irritate my eyes. I decided to give this a try and my first go with it, I was not impressed!! Barely removed my makeup and left a film on my eyes for an hour or so. Second time, perfect! Removed every trace of my glitter waterproof eyeliner and mascara. The difference? First time I used a cotton ball, second time I used a cotton round pad. All in the tools you use! Will definitely purchase again.

It’s okay but I definitely don’t love it and will look for something else. The brand is well known and I use many of their products so thought I would like this also. The material is a watery milky texture. Because of the design of the bottle you need to pour it out very carefully or an excessive amount will come out. I have been using it with a washcloth because the product is so runny. I need to rub my eyes more than with other kinds I have used to remove waterproof mascara and it never quite gets it all. I have also noticed I need to shake the bottle before using it as it looks like the materials have separated and need to be “mixed” each time you use it.

I'm disappointed with CeraVe's Makeup Remover. Actually quite disappointed. I'm usually a fan of their products, so I thought I'd give this a try. This barely removed any makeup I had on. Now let me say, I had very little eye makeup on. Only a light coating of mascara; one coat - not even waterproof. A VERY light dusting of highlight over my entire eyelid. That's it. Come night when I went to remove my eye makeup - L'Oreal Bambi Mascara, I was having a difficult time removing that ONE VERY LIGHT COAT! That's ridiculous. I used one of my new eye makeup remover pads on one eye and a very soft washcloth on the other. Both had some of the CeraVe Eye Makeup Remover on them. Outcome was just awful. I tried applying more product. Still having a difficult time removing some residual mascara. And remember, this was a LIGHT application of one coat, non-waterproof. I thought I'd try the next day to give this another chance. I wore a bit more eye makeup and two coats of mascara. When it was time to remove, same issues, only more difficult, probably due to the waterproof mascara. I hated this remover really. I think this particular product is terrible and doesn't stand up to what it says and is supposed to do! I also personally don't like Micellar products. While they are a step up from this for sure, I wouldn't rate them very well in a poll. I'm a retired cosmetologist and at almost 64, me personally, I have used Baby Oil to remove my eye makeup all these years. And no issues with eye problems or sensitivity, etc. I would just add a small squirt on a clean, damp soft washcloth and gently remove my eye makeup. It did the job very fast..within about a minute for both eyes, even with heavier eye makeup and waterproof mascara. Over the last fifteen years approximately, I've switched to Organic Coconut Oil. I keep that Coconut Oil strictly for my makeup removal and such. Other bottles are in my kitchen for cooking, baking and smoothies. In a "pinch" you can use Organic Avacado Oil (as it's a mild oil and easy on the eyes). Of course practice cleanliness and use a soft damp cloth and do not touch the bottle again if it's touched your eyes. As I've said, I'm almost 64, a retired cosmetologist and have and continue to use this method of removal. I just like to keep with the times and try new products as this one by CeraVe. However, in my personal opinion of course, I don't think it's very good. Not everyone may agree, and that's fine. But this is a waste of money in my opinion. And I use other CeraVe products. I use this every day and I love it! It’s great for taking off waterproof mascara too. I have really sensitive skin, but this stuff didn’t hurt my skin at all! It was fragrance free and super effective!

While the product itself is good, I find the packaging quite inconvenient to use. Whenever I try to pour the product onto my makeup pad, I end up spilling it.

I find it great in removing especially eye make up as I gave sensative and dry skin. But, I received it unsealed and I didn't like that it too liquidy for me.

Could be just that my sensitive skin could not tolerate this, but it left the skin around my eyes red, feeling raw and burned. I haven’t used the product at any other time so can’t say if it’s authentic or just my sensitivities.
