The DropWomen's Gabriela High Neck Cut-in A-line Side-Slit Maxi Sweater Dress

I was pleasantly surprised when I got this dress and tried it on. I thought it might be too tight/ too clingy but it fits perfect and doesn't cling to the body. I am even pregnant and this fits well on my body right now. I am 5ft and a little heavier then I am usually at 123 right now and this fits beautifully both in length and body. I got the silver cloud color which I normally wouldn't go for a nude or tan color but I am so glad I did. I think I am going to buy the black too since I am enjoying this dress so much.

First the good things about this dress: it has a lovely icy pink color. The knitted sweater material fabric feels sturdy and high quality. Now the less than good: the dress is a really odd length - a dress like this should hit a normal height person a little below the knee and a tall person around or slightly above the knee, but this dress hits me (5'11) on my mid calf and would hit a shorter person at their ankles. This fit length does not match the photograph of the model as it hits her a little below the knee, it was much longer on me. I have never been a fan of these dresses that have a slit on one side instead of both sides or one slit in the back, it always falls really weird when you walk and sit down. If were keeping this dress I would have sewn up the slit. The slit is also really long, on a dress as long as this, for a modest type high neck dress like this, you wouldn't think it would have a scandalously high slit hitting my upper mid thigh, but I suppose on a shorter person it would be okay. The intent of the fit on this was supposed to be neither loose nor tight, but the XL was too tight on me showing everything and the XXL was very loose around the arm holes making it show my bra under my arms, I might have otherwise kept it and sewn up the slit--but I am just at an in between size in this one. I hope the Drop makes other dresses using this fabric, but in a different cut. I would love something with a structured waist or empire waist in this fabric.

Unless you are fairly tall and stick thin, don’t bother ordering this dress. It boldly showcases every bulge, lump and bump, even cellulite. The high armholes make it hard to wear a bra, so either your straps show or your nipples will be saying “hi” to everyone you meet. BTW, the pink and the beige are almost the same color, very close to a pale skin color. Nude, anyone?

Really pretty shade of blush pink. I was between sizes per their chart and got a large. I’m usually a medium especially in dresses, so I’m glad I took the time to review their size chart. A medium would have been too form fitting. It’s a clingy fabric. It will show every curve.

Feels heavy when you first unfold it. Like it’s gonna be heavy and quilt like on the body. But I wore it on one of the hottest days this year and was pleased with the wear, breathability, diversity of wearing options etc. I want this dress in another color.

This dress is a wonder! I would not have tried something like this if it weren't designed by Carolyn Mirand Koch, who considers so many elements of fit and style. The fabric has a great weight - fine for summer but substantial enough that it doesn't highlight every tiny bump. I'm so glad I tried it! Will be perfect for a summer wedding.

Comfortable, flattering, chic, and really nice material, the only thing is that if you have pets with long hair you may have their hair sticking to the material of the dress, you'll just have to clean it.

Perfect fit, and the quality is very nice.Side note: Hand wash or dry clean only. I had purchased a top, same brand, material, and style ,and it got ruined in the wash.I would definitely recommend this if you are looking to get a long maxi style dress(very classy)!

There's only a slit on one side which I wasn't expecting. The dress is ok but I returned it as it goes out at the bottom which looked unflattering on me. Good quality material though

Wow, it’s amazing. The quality is fab, it’s a heavy knit so your underwear doesn’t show through. It’s a generous sizing so it doesn’t cling in all the wrong places. You could go down if you want it tight fitting . I’m ordering in an other colour!
