If/when it gets dirty, I would just wash in water with a few drops of a mild dishwasher soap, rinse thoroughly and air dry. **Q: is it better than mason pearson??** A: So far YES!!! I’ve owned Mason Pearson since the early 1980’s. I thought there was nothing better and continued to buy Mason Pearson. However, when I needed a new brush and I looked at the prices I needed to know what else was out there. It was ridiculous!!! So far I’m very pleased. It massages my scalp while I’m brushing, and feels wonderful. The large is very big compared to Mason Pearson’s brush and a fraction of the price. Mine came in an empty box, no wrapping to protect the brush, no instructions.** A: Unfortunately, There were no instructions on how to clean the brush. My brush fell apart the first time cleaned. So for years, I had a Denman. Fine, but my Denman wore out. I thought I’d finally splash out on a Mason &Pearson- but they’re £100. So I found this Shash. More expensive than a Denman, but made with better materials, yet much less expensive than a M & P. I couldn’t be happier. It penetrates to the scalp, stimulating, but it doesn’t tear out the hair. Although my scalp feels rejuvenated, there is hardly any hair left in the brush. The lacquered wood finish feels nicer than the Denman plastic, bun it's a third of the price of an M & P.
