In my experience, the brace works best when it is tightened just short of the point of actual tension. The straps should feel slightly loose. This seems like it wouldn't work, but it does. I love this thing and am tempted to buy more of them just in case it gets taken off the market. This brace is perfect…it has a harder C shaped support to hold the knee cap in place from moving out, the velcro straps are very solid and hold well, and the brace is small enough to be worn under her softball pants without noticing its there. She does wear a thin CopperFit sleeve under the brace to avoid any rubbing. She can do anything on the field now…including sprinting, sliding, and pitching. I was on the boarder between medium and large, so I ordered the medium. I had a similar issue with large vs xlarge. I bought xl, however, ended up buying large. I needed this for running and after a bit felt xl seemed to slip (too large). Large fit snug but didn’t slip. Guess it depends on how snug you want the brace. **Q: Can anyone tell me what the opening size for the bottom and the top of the either 3xl or 4xl and how much the "sleeve" stretches?** A: The top and bottom openings are the same for this brace. For a 3XL it is 19.5" and the 4XL is 21.5". There is not a lot of stretch to this brace as there is reinforced stitching around the top and bottom edges. This is by far the best brace of the many we tried. 5 stars and would buy again if we wear this one out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally - Meniscus, Tracking, and Patella Relief *by R***A on November 11, 2019* Wish I had thought to look for this type of support years ago. I've had ACL surgery using my patella for the repair then years later another meniscus repair which has caused my knee to act up with improper knee cap tracking as well as meniscus pain not allowing me to play sports often times. I've always had a conventional larger support which greatly hinders movement, nor really focuses on my issues, but with this much shorter design it is awesome. The crisscross bands are smart providing perfect support then the half circle padded area does its job to help knee track properly and just enough pressure on the meniscus area without causing any pain. My knee had been popping out and very sore for over a week along with unable to fully bend upward but immediately was able to the moment I put this support on, couldn't believe it. In addition, after wearing for a couple of hours when I took it off my knee on its own was tracking better with no more meniscus issue either. The support was able to realign everything only having to put it on when it acts up or I'm about to do an activity. Some reviews complained about the seam in the back which it sounded like the company was going to address but apparently didn't as it's absolutely horribly uncomfortable. It's the one reason I could only wear it for a short time until I thought to throw on a Tommy Copper sleeve I had which is like a wearing a nylon and that solved feeling the brutal stitching of the seam. Seriously, why not invert the seam, who cares about looks, it's about comfort, fix this issue.
