What are the directions for using this?

There is an instruction sheet in the package. It'sabout a teaspoon of dried sourdough starter that you re-activate with your flour and water. I used this to make Einkorn starter and am very happy with it. It took about a week to grow the first batch of starter. Jovial Foods has a great you-tube video to make your own from scratch. I was not that patient. It is a little pricy for what it is, looking back, I probably would have gone the Jovial way. Be aware, this is going to be a new family member that needs fed and watered. Are there directions for recommended use in a bread machine?

Not at this time. We will work on it for the future. Thank you.

How do you grow it in the winte?. Our house is between64 and 69.

Use warm water (not hot). Keep the jar covered with only a little opening in the top. This should cause the sour to "sweat." The higher humidity will help with the fermentation. Once the sour is established and bubly, you may want to use cold water. Keep an eye on it and act accordingly.
