The movie have never looked or sounded better, the packaging is nice and classy with the red case, at this point throw the old Blu rays in the trash and get these 4k’s. You’ll thank me later! Great movies I love Freddy Krueger
The movies are good, but I thought I was getting a red case and ended up with a black one. I’m a little disappointed because I think the red case would’ve looked really cool.

Fantastic 4K transfers, unrated cuts and 3D "Freddy's Dead" make this set a dream for Freddy fans!
I opted for the cheaper version of this set. From what I gather, the only meaningful difference between this and the much more expensive "library" style set is the packaging. And frankly, I'm more than happy to save $200+ by just opting for a normal plastic case. With so many other classic horror franchises getting upgraded to 4K (every "Chucky" movie, almost every single "Halloween", every theatrical "Hellraiser", etc. are all available in the format right now) I'm glad to see Freddy Krueger finally getting a respectable upgrade to modern home-video standards with this very solid release. If you've previously owned the Blu-Ray set, you're not getting any more bonus content compared to that release. It's basically the same special features. But there is some notable new content-- that being unrated cuts of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child", along with a 3D version of "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare" (and a pair of old-school 3D glasses). And those are definitely big perks here. But if you're buying this set, chances are you're buying for one reason... you're a Freddy fan and you want to see these films in beautiful 4K. And this set absolutely delivers in that department. We've marathoned the first four films today and plan on finishing them over the next day or two, so I will update this review once completed. And everything we've seen so far has been phenomenal. The transfers are absolutely gorgeous with a subtly boosted sharpness and improved level of fine detail over the previous Blu-Ray release. Thinks like clothing and skin-textures feel more lifelike, and you can even make out more fine detail in the Freddy makeup in closeups. I thankfully have noticed no intrusive use of filtering or DNR, nor any significant toying with the color-correction. Black levels are nice and complex, and while it's not overtly noticeable in my opinion, the HDR does a nice pop with certain colors in key sequences. Honestly, the one and only issue I've had was that the title card for "Freddy's Revenge" was maybe a hair too vibrant... the word "Nightmare" was almost hard to read. But that's a terrible minor nitpick considering its only onscreen for a matter of seconds and the rest of the film looks absolutely flawless and practically like a brand-new movie compared to the old Blu-Ray. Whether or not you should buy this set is really gonna come down to how much of a nerd you are for picture quality. If you want the best experience available watching these movies, I think this is 100% worth owning. If you just want to experience the story and characters and aren't particular, the old Blu-Ray set is probably good enough. But I do think you're missing out. This is an easy 5 out of 5 for me.

Perfect 4K boxset release for loved horror series.
This boxset is fulfilled dream for series fan. All 7 movies look great. 1st and 5th movie is available in uncut version. 6th movie is available in 2d or 3d version (3d glasses are part of package). There are also good extras for 1st and 7th movie and for rest of movies there are short interviews with creators, usually answering some most important questions. Warner Bros really took care for this release. Elm Street series were kind of lucky - only really bad sequel is 6th movie and 5th movie is just boring, especially after all these other either atmospheric or visually interesting movies. I really recommend it! (I wish similar 4K boxset would be release for Friday 13th series with same care (and effort to restore uncut versions, but unfortunately it's not in the hands of Warner Bros.)
