Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer Study Guide (Sybex Study Guide)

I first got the ACE in 2018 with a 3-digit series number. I hold 5 other GCP certifications, and this book is one of my essential tools when I renew the ACE exam as required by Google. Whether you're getting up to speed, closing some weak areas, or just brushing up for the associate level exam when you've moved on to architecture/management, this book is an excellent review. The second edition makes several improvements over the first edition. There's a precision and efficiency to the writing style. The initial assessment, chapter-by-chapter review questions, and custom practice exams (online) are absolutely essential in assessing your readiness to take this exam. As the rear of the book says, if you can pass both 100-question online exams that come with the book at 90%, you're ready to take and pass the exam. This aligns with my experience. This may not be the best material for someone trying to cram...there is a certain level of assumption that you have some basic hands on experience with GCP, but does not assume or require you to know all areas in order to get up to speed. If you've even tinkered with GCP recently or want to expand your knowledge, this is a great way to get that process going and get a great tour of the GCP services and how they fit into the landscape of cloud architecture and engineering.

Passed the exam first attempt. This book prepared me with an understanding to correctly answer the scenario based questions on the exam.

There are copy/paste errors in the book, and there is too much of a focus on App Engine, which os not covered in the exam. This might be useful information, but it could have been segregated as a 'bonus' chapter. There are several points wjere it says you need to know things about App Engine for the exam, which you don't. There are even App Engine questions on the online practice tests. Why?

I used this book and the domain tests (?) on Google to prep for the exam. I don't recall ever being surprised when i did take the exam.

Has everything you need!

This book is of no use if you want to pass the certification, the practice exam questions doesn’t help and the online exams are also of no use, waste of money, don’t buy the book.

I teach ACE preparation classes for my employer and recommend this book to my students/coworkers. I keep 2 copies in my desk drawer for them to borrow. Nobody has flunked the test (that I know of).

Passed my exam using this book. Only thing I would say is that the actual exam is harder than the practice ones in the book so maybe use another resource for your practice tests.

A must have if you're preparing for this exam! All the topics are covered and explained with real world examples which will makes concepts clear.
