These are, without a doubt, the best portable window AC units I’ve used. They’re quiet, energy-efficient, and have no trouble cooling even the hottest rooms. I purchased two units for my upstairs, and while one of them developed an issue, the experience with customer service was outstanding. Chenie at Whynter responded promptly, provided excellent support, and made the warranty replacement process quick and hassle-free. The product quality, combined with exceptional customer service, has made me a loyal customer. I highly recommend both these units and the Whynter brand!

Solid AC. Very good quality of AC itself and fairly quiet. Nice features. That being said the instructions are horribly written and very confusing. The insulation tape is horrible quality. Once you apply it, you cant remove it as it fragments into a million pieces. and the exhaust adapter is cheap and has so many open points that will allow bugs/moisture into the house. Seriously, why cant they design a fully sealed exhaust port. Ridiculous.

This portable AC works well for cooling down my room, which used to stay warm. I love the scheduling feature that allows me to set it to turn on and off, and the app for managing settings is a great addition. However, I did experience issues with the temperature sensor; it doesn’t seem to respond accurately. Even when the desired room temperature is reached, the unit sometimes stays on, and other times, it won't kick on when the room gets warmer than set. Unfortunately, I had to return it due to delayed shipping and ended up buying one from Home Depot instead. Overall, it's effective but could use improvements on the temperature control.

Compressor took a crap within 20 minutes, might’ve just got unlucky but it’s hot rn and angry it didn’t work. Now for the 10 minutes it did work it worked great cold, felt “well” constructed, easy to install, even the plastic that goes on the window was sturdy. The hose was kinda dumb but besides very angry and slept hot.

After two seasons of use, I’ve really enjoyed this AC compared to the cheaper, “dumber” portable units I’ve owned in the past. One of my biggest frustrations with previous models was having to empty the water tank nearly every day. It got to the point where I bought a condensate pump just so I wouldn’t have to constantly drain them. With this Whynter AC, I haven’t had to deal with that at all! The inverter operation is another big improvement. It cools my room very well without constantly cycling on and off at full power, and I really like being able to control and monitor it through the app. Being able to adjust the temperature or settings from my phone is one of those features I didn’t think I needed until I had it. After two summers, I did unfortunately experience an issue with my unit, but I was extremely impressed with Whynter’s customer service. Jose with Whynter worked with me through troubleshooting and ultimately offered a very reasonable solution to get me taken care of. Overall, despite that issue, I’ve been very happy with the ARC-1030WN. Between the cooling performance, inverter technology, smart controls, and not having to constantly empty condensate, it has been a substantial upgrade over the portable ACs I’ve owned before.
