A fine transformer
This unit does exactly what you need with little compromise or fuss. Of course, your success depends on selecting the appropriate voltage to meet the requirements of your appliance PLUS the ability to handle the surge drawn upon startup. Two to three times the rated voltage is generally recommended. I bought this unit primarily to run the Arzum Mirra Turkish-Greek coffee pot which draws 850W. (http://www.amazon.com/Quality-Renowned-Turkish-Electric-Stainless/dp/B00GO45NDA/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1400703963&sr=1-2)For the past month, the unit has worked perfectly. It handles all the different plugs that European appliances have and even allows you to run 110 appliances at the same time (provided you do not exceed its limits, of course.)As you can see from the specifications it is fairly heavy and large, but I believe that's what you get for this level of performance. It makes no perceptible sound or smell unless you are right up against it, but it is very slight, and I don't feel it is any worse than other appliances emit. You can certainly minimize these potential annoyances by switching off the breaker on the back of the unit when it is not in use.I would not hesitate to recommend this unit.

LiteFuze LT Series Converter
This is a good Converter if you need to transform some power. I got this, along with a 220V surge protector, for a trip to Europe. The converter worked great with no issues. The only reason I would not give it 5 Stars is because of the noise (transformer "hum") and an odd smell when in use. I also did not really care for the size and weight of this converter, but it did get the job done, so no major complaints.

Well Made-Heavy-Made in China
This is serious overkill for what I needed (something to charge the Li battery for my German ebike) but it does the job. I like the design and the Shucko plug as well as having US 110v outlets. It is clearly well made. Is is heavy and suited for benchtop use although it does have a carry handle. Be sure to set the input voltage correctly first (switch on the back) as that is easy to miss.It is made in China.Had I known that, I likely would have chosen something else, but it is exactly what I wanted and it is exactly as described. It's a transformer, it's not super heavy
This is used to operate a vacuum, so portability is key, as this is moved throughout the house. works very nicely to power our American vacuum in Europe (Make sure your vacuum will support 50Hz).

FATAL FLAW!!! And the company does NOT honor the lifetime warranty
I purchased two LiteFuze Convertingbox 2000 and a liteFuze Convertingbox 3000. I used them to convert 220V electricity to 110V. I thought that my electronics were safe, but I was wrong. Here's why: These voltage converters sense the input voltage and automatically transform to the other voltage. There is no manual switch. I never imagined this was a problem when I purchased theses units, but after my electronics were fried by too much voltage, I now understand the design flaw. These units only work properly if you can guarantee that there will not be a power outage when converting 220V to 110V. I was standing in front of the LiteFuze Convertingbox 2000 when the power went out. As this happened, the light for 110V output slowly faded and then suddenly the light for 220V output turned on (briefly) and fried my electronics! I was horrified! This transformer was supposed to protect my equipment from 220V and provide steady 110V electricity. But instead, the design flaw meant that as the power outage occurred, the convertingbox instead deliberately sent 220V electricity to my 110V appliances! If you own one of these units already, you can verify my story above by pulling the plug out of the wall while it is converting 220 to 110 and watch the lights on the front. You too will be horrified to discovered the design failure!I contacted LiteFuze by filling out their contact page on their website, but received no reply. I contacted them by email, but they did not reply. Finally I searched and searched the web and found their phone number, and when I called, they at first claimed that I had reached the wrong number but finally admitted that it was their company but that they refuse to talk to customers and that I should call the dealer where I bought it! Obviously amazon is not in the business of honoring warranties issued by manufacturers, and amazon does not accept returns after 30 days. Amazon is great, but it is unrealistic of LiteFuze to expect amazon to handle their customer support issues.I strongly recommend that you do not buy any LiteFuze products!!!! There are better options available. Power outages are inevitable, and it's ridiculous to use the LiteFuze convertingbox when it is guaranteed to fry your electronics.

Love it, No Noise, very sturdy looking, works as expected
When I purchased this product there were very less review compared to the other similar products. After researching for quite a while, i decided to give this product a try and see if can work with the roti maker that I got it from India. It does really wonderful job. Universal pins works great, easy set up and most of all doesnt make any sound. ITs been just a week I recieved the item, as we use it I will keep updating the product review on its performance.

Overall a good purchase
Does what it is supposed to do. I have not pushed the unit, I only use about 700 of the 2000 watts, so I do not know how well it performs close to its limits. Quiet operation. Well finished product. Outlet socket arrangement not suitable for right angle plugs is one criticism I have.Update - item has developed a noisy power output that is creating audio interference on my system - waiting for seller feedback.

Its a transformer.
Screws are loose inside holding the coil. I retighten and no more problem.

Great step up/down voltage converter - highly recommended
This is the second one of these that I have bought to run audiovisual kit (and occasionally a hammer drill) from the UK in Canada and it works perfectly. No noise or hum, doesn't seem to run hot, been completely trouble-free. I have a high quality hi-fi set up running on the first one and it hasn't significantly affected the quality of the sound and I have been very happy with it, hence buying another! The only minor quibble (and it is minor) - the first one I bought had the plug socket effectively upside down which worked well leaving plenty of room for the flex, whereas the second one I've just bought has the socket the usual way up - because it sits close to the bottom of the unit there isn't loads of clearance for the cable as it exits the plug. Not been an issue for me however. I bought the 2000W unit to make sure I allowed for the spike in current with some appliances (such as TVs) when first turned on so as not overload; we have had a TV, amplifier, CD player, Wii PS3 running of this without any issues though. It is a chunky unit which you might want to be mindful of if you were purchasing for kitchen equipment - it would work fine but wouldn't be the most handsome addition to the kitchen work surface! Highly recommended.

Successfully runs UK appliances in Canada
I needed something to run a 1400 watt UK food processor in Canada. This product works beautifully. We have also used it with a UK sandwich toastie maker successfully. Only slight annoyance is the placing of the output plug at the bottom means if you have a stiff cable you have to put the converter on something to raise it up. This is a minor annoyance however. The machine is silent and no sign of it overheating. It is quite large and heavy - but you expect that to do the job it needs to do. I would recommend.

Quiet and dependable
I have been using this transformer for 6 months with audio equipment brought to Canada from the UK. I can confirm that it is indeed a quiet device as others have said, which is a concern with many other transformers. The only design flaw is that they should have left the UK socket upside down (apparently was this way on older models), or mounted the socket higher so that there is room for the cable to turn 90 degrees; not a problem when the unit is sitting on a shelf, but it is a problem with the unit sat on the floor. I'm still awarding 5 stars, because the transformer excels at it's main function, which is silent high quality power conversion.
