Review: Great starter set - These brushes work great. As a newbie to watercolor, I found th se were a great starter set that doesn't break the bank. The bristles have a great shape, hold tons of water, and I found that I was wasting less paint than my super cheap brushes - my cleaning water had very little color to it! You also get a nice variety of sizes with this pack. I can't speak to longevity, but I believe these will hold up well for a long time.

I’m not sure how people paint with their brushes or if they take proper care of the tips but I find these great beginner brushes. I do wish they held more water now that I have been painting.

**Q: Do these brushes spring back while you paint and hold to their natural shape like synthetic brushes?**
A: So far so good. I had not had any problem with their ability to spring back and keep form

**Q: Can these be used for gouache?**
A: I am using them for qouache and the work fine

**Q: How tall are the brushes**
A: The brushes are standard length you would find in any art supply store. Twenty one to twenty seven cm overall length.

**Q: Do they hold water well?**
A: They did and worked well with painting our rocks.

I simply love these brushes. I have lots of brushes but I bought these anyway because it’s nice to have extras I can comfortably take out to classes and have some to share with others BUT when I started to use these, I ended up liking them more than my other brushes. Now I use them ALL the time!! I own several common popular brands and these have become my “go-to” brushes. They hold a good amount of paint. They quickly snap back during use, and I’ve had NO shedding whatsoever. For the price, these are so worth your money!! . Don’t sit on the fence purchasing these. I’m going to buy another set so that if they choose the increase the price, I’ve already got more.
