Ultra Clear Roach & Ant Gel Bait 2.5 Ounces, Water-Based Gel Bait

​The Situation I rented an apartment in downtown Nashville and quickly realized it was completely infested with roaches. The landlord refused to do anything. It was so bad that the walls literally moved. I had to store my clean plates and clothes in XL Ziploc bags and Tupperware just to keep the bugs off them. Roaches are carnivorous and will eat their dead instead of the bait if you leave them laying around. ​Deep clean: Vacuum behind everything, including large appliances and furniture. ​Be strategic: Put the gel directly in their travel lines, deep into cracks, and inside drawers. Oh I'm added a note the plunger that this comes with does not move very well I sometimes will lubricated the end of it before you stick it together because it's essentially like a big medicine syringe it will push way too much out so you can either use a smaller medicine syringe and suck it out of the from the tip or you can lubricate the plunger part

Ended up with the beginnings of a roach infestation in my apartment building after a neighbor with roaches moved out. This Hot Shot gel uses an ingredient that kills both the adult roaches as well as their eggs and works wonderfully in combination with another product like fipronil gel, which the roaches will carry to the next and share with all of their compades, killing the entire nest. The two-product approach ensures that any insects who have gained resistance will also be killed. I combined this with another product gel that has another active ingredient because fipronil is effective but prone to resistance, and within 48 hours, all visible signs of roaches have disappeared. It is also very safe to use around pets, with the active ingredient even being used in topical flea treatments, as it has been engineered to be nontoxic to nontarget species, so the most that will happen if your pup or cat eats some is a mild tummyache.. This is a HUGE tube for the price, almost 4x the size of other options, and it's cheaper, so it's not only a better size, but also a better price for a larger amount! It's clear in color, so you can't even see it after it dries, and it blends in nicely all color schemes, and it's very easy to clean up, as it hardens and can be flicked off with zero effort. All around a wonderful product for anyone experiencing roaches!

I think the product works decent (most important win) and so far I love that it is clear. I'm removing one star only because I don't like that the applicator could be easier to use and more stable. It wasted a bit getting the thing together and at times more shot out in one place than I wanted. However that may be first time user error; so, if it seems effective at keeping roaches away, I will buy it again in a couple months and if I have more luck with the applicator will gladly give 5 stars it possibly deserves.

This Hot Shot roach and ant gel bait was the only thing that finally got rid of my ants here in Florida. I tried other options, but this is what actually worked. The clear gel is easy to place where needed, and I liked that it dries clear instead of leaving an obvious mess. Overall, very effective and worth trying if you are dealing with stubborn ants.

Every spring we get little black ants in the home. It's like a mini invasion in a couple of locations around the house. Our first invasion this year came to my bathroom, and it wasn't a huge problem. I'd squish 30-50 ants per day, and really, my main complaint is that I don't like little insects crawling on my stuff. They're small, but they aren't clean, and there are lots of 'em! This product stopped the current invasion completely within three days. When Hot Shot arrived on Wednesday, I placed a two-inch bead of gel along the crack they seemed to be using, wiped up a little residue, and found that the following day I only squished three ants, the next day squished one or two, and today I haven't seen any. The product may not work as well for all types of ant and insect problems, but for my situation, it's been perfect. I hope the active ingredients are stable, because for my use, the amount of bait provided will last a lifetime.

Not very good, only enough in tube for a couple of globs of product, very disappointed in this product.

The gel appears to be working. However, 2 problems I had: 1) The instructions omit a key point in preparing the applicator! You have to remove both the applicator tip cover AND the plug at the end of the syringe before trying to install the plunger into it! There was no mention of this plastic plug! It's the same light plastic color, I had clear gel and it was Not very noticeable! 2) When carefully pushing the plunger to apply the gel, it would barely move, then suddenly squirt out way too much gel all over the place or in a large mound! (I read that roaches respond best to pea-size amounts.) Maybe it was too humid the day I used, but I ended up wasting a Lot of the gel and making numerous unnecessary messes due to this problem. Revise your instructions and put a rotating gear on your applicator!
