Learned about this from my most senior and experienced Barber School instructor. I use as well and have also turned my Dad onto using this product. Kept in your spray bottle water 10% to 20% keeps it from taking on that plastic & stale aroma. It adds some slight control & glide while cutting and may possibly lubricate shears somewhat. I use it professionally in this manner but use personally 50/50 with water in a spray bottle to wet and style my hair before adding any pomade or subsequent product. The fragrance of Eau de Portugal is a natural citrus that makes your hair smell wonderful to a partner or anyone close enough to smell your hair. It is neutral and could be Unisex. I saw noticeable changes to my hair within a week of using this product. Hair takes on more body and improved texture. Limp or flyaway hairs go away, and hair seems to have a great hand feel that is not greasy or un-natural. I would surmise the main active ingredient in this tonic and others similar is glycerine, which is a humectant. While the ingredients list on this bottle contains pleasing citrus parfum essences, the glycerine is what maintains moisture at the scalp and hair follicles while adding some sheen and elasticity to the hair. My father is in his 70s. While he digs the nostalgia of wet shaving and old school products, proper moisturizing of the hair and body has never been a priority for him. He sees highly disciplined self care as outside the traditional male gender role. But, he’s learning. I’ve turned him on to using this product. He dilutes and also uses at full strength. It has done wonders for his hair and scalp. I haven’t tried the other Pinaud tonics. The natural fragrance of Eau de Portugal and the fact it is clear give it a clean and natural vibe I like very much. Highly recommended to anyone with hair.

This is a top shelf product. The orange peel, lemon, and tangerine are all evident, and in that order. The scent is really fresh and resembles a citrus grove with mostly oranges. The tonic is outstanding in making my hair (wavy/med-fine) stand up from the scalp creating a fluffier and softer texture while giving a decent hold. It feels good. You can easily comb again later with a little water and it remains. Excellent daily tonic and is great with Citrus Musk aftershave (I'm sure the Lime Sec too). Highly recommend.

As with all things Clubman, you have to approach them with a degree of calculated brashness and cautious trepidation. Some of their products are just NOT for me- but when I tried them I really WENT for them. You can't dabble in a Clubman product, you have to wholeheartedly BE the Clubman- even if it's only for one day. They're French, after all. So it was with this here hair stuff. I liked it enough of the Clubman products I'd tried to warrant a cautious go at this one. . . It smells... like an orange. Very orangey. If you've read several reviews that say "orange" and you really don't like orange and are hoping that it's all just orange to our noses and won't be to yours- you're wrong. This is like, ... someone just sat next to you on the train and ate a whole orange and rubbed it on your hair type of orange. Very orange, my friends. That said- I like orange, and it smells nice for oh, about 12 minutes, then it's gone, so no harm no foul. When I put it in my hair and some VIBR on my face I smell, according to my wife, "like Christmas." So you like Christmas, don't you?? So that's it? No- the performance of this stuff is rather underwhelming, it's hard to say whether it has any long term effect on the hair, except that I've noticed it stays a little cleaner "feeling" if I don't wash my hair every day, which I don't- get over it. So yeah. It's cheap enough to try, and if you don't like Orange- DON'T get it.

Decent product. It does have an orange scent, but it’s not as strong as some are making it out to be. And even at that it goes away fairly quick anyway.

I like it. Smells good. Feels good. I like their products.

This stuff smells clean, and it does its job to keep hair in place. I bought it because I trust this brand. But the sticky/tacky hold just isn't for me because it seems to dry my scalp. Still, for those looking for a solution that sets the hair with a nice, dry look — this is the ticket.

Clubman Pinaud Eau De Portugal Hair Tonic, 12.5-Fluid Ounce Good stuff. Nice clean orangy-cirtusy scent. Not greasy and gently keeps hair intact except in very windy conditions. Immediately after shampooing this stuff gives a tingly rush to the scalp. Reminiscent of the old barber shop days.

My barber used this about ten years ago and I was hooked. I can’t comment on what it does to my hair- nothing much, I’m guessing- but it smells great in summer and helps with sweaty Panama hat hair :)

Clubman Pinaud Eau de Portugal hair tonic smells nice and gives a nice finished to one's hair. When this is finished I will buy another Clubman hair tonic. Recommended.
