Augusts in Africa: Safaris into the Twilight: Forty Years of Essays and Stories Hardcover – November 8, 2016

I had no desire for any type of safari hunt....until I read this book. The way the author describes hunting cape buffalo will make the hair on the back of your neck stand. It is eloquently written and chalk full of adventure. One of my favorite books now! BUY IT! You won't be sorry!

This was a great listen for long plane rides. Great combination of personal stories and historic references.

I am astounded by the quality of this writing. There is a lot of Africana that is reporting and some could go into Outdoor Life. This is literature. The illustrations are black and white, because they are pencil drawings -- really good pencil drawings. I stopped reading after three stories, because this is an author I want to savor.

Love this types of stories.

It was a pleasant surprise. McIntyre writes extremely well and the work plan is very interesting. One might feel inspired.

I like books about hunting in previous decade , this should be my answer . I have not started reading this book yet, but happy as have in as part of my collections in our library.
