These are fantastic! Easy for a normal height adult to flip up to deactivate in case of a fire etc. They are super easy to put on and effective enough to keep a toddler safe but when I accidentally locked myself out of the house in 90 degree weather, I was able to force the window open even with this plastic device in place. I’m not sure yet If the device is actually compromised due the impact of shoving it open but I reset it and it’s still working as a safety device as of right now. It definately WOULD not keep out an intruder If they were motivated, but it would make a lot of noise and deter a less ambitious intruder.

I got these because my cats are nosey and like to poke their heads out the window, I live on the seventh floor of my building and my windows didn’t come with screens. When I need to air the house out (like if I’m cooking or if there’s a bad smell etc), I wanted to be able to open the windows without worrying that the cats will be able to wedge the window open further and get outside and plummet to their deaths. (Falls from windows are a very very frequent cause of death for housecats!) So far, I love these things. They were very easy to install. It was kind of hard to wrap my head around how they’d work just reading the instructions online, but when I got them out of the package it all clicked. They work well for both my sliding door and my swing-open window (probably not what they’re built for, but I stuck them outside of the windowsill and it works— see my photo). They are very easy to move in and out of their “locked” position, so you can open the window wider if you need to. Also, I didn’t have to worry about using them in front of my children, because my children are cats!

Live in a four-season climate and love fresh air in the house as often as possible. And, since the screens on the house I just bought and moved into are all damaged, I bought adjustable screen inserts that are stabilized with the actual window. But, that creates a vulnerability. So, I put these on the windows to prevent intruders from easily pushing through the screens. Not perfect. But, I do like the fact that any hurdle one can present is helpful - even in towns like mine where the crime statistic are very low. Just want fresh air without inviting trouble. So, these add a layer of protection, among other measures. Cannot speak to whether they prevent intrusion since there have been no incidents. But, having them is better than having nothing to present a hurdle - if nothing more than the noise such would produce. My dogs would take care of the rest! Update: I recently purchased several in-window fans to improve circulation. These are taller than the screens I bought last year. So, I bought more of these to provide similar stability and protection. It is great that they are so flush to the window that there can be two sets of levels without interference. Pleased.

I installed this easily in my son's room on his four windows and as a result, he is able to still open the window but not dangerously which gives me peace of mind. High quality, smart design. Functions as expected.

It was working just fine. Very easy to install and good adhesive but then I tried to open my window and found out that even with the latch closed the windows can't open because of the thickness.

Excellent product and extremely easy to use!! I never thought of this safety precaution until I saw my toddler climb on a table under the window - I caught her just in time, but my stomach was upside down for a while worrying of what could've happened. Application is simple and adhesive is surprisingly very strong. I had my husband use a good amount of strength to try and open the window after putting these up and it passed the test. I will always have these in lock positions and triple check that they pass our strength test before letting our littles one up!

One of our friends had a daughter fall out of a window, (luckily survived but was in the hospital for a long time) We bought these for all our windows. We also used it on our sliders to keep our kids when they were infants from opening the slider. These work really good for keeping kids from opening past whatever point you put it at. They are easy for an adult to flip off. The only real issue I had with them, is that if you forget to flip them off an adult can easily force the window open, and we got a couple stuck between the two windows that was a pain to get out.

Simple, quick, and works as designed. Great for its purpose. The clear 3M adhesive sticks great to windows and installation takes mere seconds. As for the strength of the plastic, it seems sturdy enough to keep our two year old from breaking it. As a test, I tried opening the window with these in place, and they did their job without breaking. I’d say if you slammed the window against it with speed or great force they would break, but not under normal circumstances. That said, the tabs that ride in the body of unit are plastic. A metal dowel would be my preference. All in all, great!

I love these, they work so well! Super easy to install, great to help keep the little ones safe from opening the window further ! Takes a bit of work to remove them, but the adhesive doesn’t leave a residue!

Doesnt get attention from the kids, what is good. Clear, simple - works great. I have vertical sliding windows. Just get some safe opening and stick it on.

These have worked so well on my 80yr old homes sketchy single hung windows. I adore the look of the windows, don't adore them with my toddler close by haha. I put two of these on each window, they stick extremely well (toddler definitely can't get them off) and have provided alot of comfort

These are the greatest!! Soooo easy to use. Easy to unlock if needed. Even fits our super old windows with very large frames. I bought these so we could open the window just enough to get air at night but still feel safe that an intruder can't just come and open the window and climb in.
