Decent alternative for Anova vacuum chamber
Works well with anova vacuum chamber. Not the same side loading style bag but will fit inside the chamber.

Great substitute bag for taba squishies!
Please never stop making these!! I use these to bag my taba squishies. I prefer harder textured squishies and PVC bags tend to be a bit harsh on the skin of my fingertips since I squeeze hard (~5500 finger strength for each hand). I often find the skin on my fingertips starting to peel with greater force. With these food bags, nothing like that happens!! They're also nontoxic too since PVC bags do emit strong chemical odors. Nonembossed bags are preferred for squishies! I do not use a heat sealer; I simply use packing tape to seal the open ends, and squish away! I also cut them to a smaller size if needed. These bags are quieter than most, which is much appreciated. Pictured is one squishy I am in the process of KO'ing (Kevin Studio, soft dry cheese texture)

Vacuum bags for chamber vacuum units
Good bag for chamber vacuum systems. You just have to get the vacuum time, heating time, and the cooling time dialed in.

8x10" Works, but not my preferred size of 11x13"
My first order of these 8x10 bags was dropped in the driveway by the delivery driver, spilled every where and was rejected owing to poor packaging by Amazon. Had to reorder, which took several days. To be candid, this size, 8x10" is not ideal for us or our Avid Armor USV32 chamber vacuum sealer . But it is all that is currently offered as the ideal and our preferred 11x13" bags are out of stock with no estimate of availability, if ever. A 11x16" textured bag is available but that is about 3" too long for our USV32. Though smaller, these composite nylon/PE bags are as sturdy and rugged as ever. It is just that they are not as roomy. So they are not as suitable when repacking items bought on sale, or in bulk for the freezer. Depending on the use, we often get multiple uses out of a bag by washing them. A bag will grow successively shorter over time, and in some cases will develop leaks due to excessive folding. When too short or when a leak develops only then are the bags discarded. Unfortunately owing to their composite construction, these bags are not recyclable in a standard PE bag recycle stream. We mitigate that by using and reusing them as much as possible before ultimately discarding them in the normal trash. This is no different from the fate of a FoodSaver bag, which has a similar composition, but is textured to allow for evacuation in that type of machine. We use the chamber vac system several times a day, every day. But we don't go through a lot of bags as I related above. Moreover, this type of sealer and the bags is very economical compared to the FoodSaver type system, once one is past the price premium difference in the basic machine. The chamber vacuum system works hands down better. Prior to obtaining an Avid Armor chamber vacuum, we were FoodSaver users for 20+ years. We will never go back to that system. Update Aug, 2026 We purchased our Avid Armor USV32 in Oct, 2021 from Amazon for $599. A work horse in our kitchen for the past 4.8 years, it's used many times per day. As a result, with our small household, we seldom have any appreciable food spoilage, moldy cheeses, lunch meats, etc. We purchase a fair number of fresh items in bulk, repackage in vacuum bags, and freeze. We also freeze cooked or par-cooked dishes in vacuum bags or containers for later use. Leftovers are frequently bagged and vacuum sealed or vacuum jarred for refrigeration and use within a few days. With the machine purchase, we bought 250 bags each of 6x12, 8x10, and 11x13, for $19.98, $23.99, and $34.98 each respectively. We used all of the 8x10 bags by Feb, 2023 (3.46 years) and reordered at that time. We used all of the 6x12 and the replaced 8x10 bags as of Aug, 2026. Thus the 8x10 bags were used in ~3.5 years and the 6x12s in ~4.8 years. In addition, I purchased 100 11x16 Wevor textured vac bags in Mar, 2023. I don't recommend these bags as they are by far the worst bags we have ever used. They are quick to develop vacuum leaks especially if used for items to be frozen. We still have most of these. The number of bags we used, and the time we have owned a chamber vacuum might sound a bit odd since I said we use the machine multiple times per day. But we don't always use a fresh bag, when using it. Often we are resealing a bag that has been opened for partial removal of the contents or we will use a washed bag instead of a new bag. We usually routinely discard bags that were used to freeze or to contain raw meats. We use the machine to vacuum seal wide mouth Mason jars up to a pint inside the machine when they contain dry or solid items, by loosely screwing on a lid and retaining ring and laying the jar on its side in the vacuum chamber. Or with the chamber lid open and a vacuum hose and gasket accessory, we use a special fitting designed to slip over a Mason jar and subject it to vacuum. We also have a 5 gallon stainless pot with vacuum lid as an accessory, which is used for quart or larger Mason jars in conjunction with the Avid Armor USV32 vacuum port. Our bag costs over the lifetime we have owned the Avid Armor system has been modest. Based on the original purchase, the 6x12 bags cost ~8ยข each, the 8x10 bags ~10ยข ea, and the 11x3 bags 14ยข ea. At today's prices with the most recent bag purchase the 6x12 bags have increased to ~9ยข ea. The 8x10 size is no longer offered on Amazon, but is replaced with an 8x12 bag, which retails for ~11ยข ea.
