Alumilite Dye is highly concentrated, requiring only a small amount (up to 5%) to achieve the desired color. In fact, in some instances, using less than one drop is enough to achieve the desired hue in a small resin batch. For accurate color measurement in small batches, add a speck of dye to the tip of a stir stick instead of dispensing it into the resin. To maintain consistent color in opaque dyes, agitate or stir prior to use as fillers may settle in the bottle. It's important to note that green translucent dye may shift to a blue color when used with epoxy chemistry, due to changes in the resin's hue (yellowing) over time. **Q: Can you dilute black pigment and if so what would you dilute with?**
A: I use this with resin So my answer would be yes you can dilute it I do with resin,

**Q: Is the brown color or the dark brown color best for mimicking a chocolate look? I don't want it looking too dark (like black) or to be too warm-toned.**
A: Great question!
Our brown dye can be like a dark chocolate color. 
But most importantly it's best to remember that with our liquid dyes a little bit goes a long way!
If you add too much dye then it will definitely turn into a black color.

**Q: Can you add to water base paint?**
A: This dye is highly pigmented and concentrated.  I would imagine it could be.

**Q: Does it make good cells in resin**
A: This is a pigment, not an alcohol ink.

This is a very concentrated dye. Unlike all the other colors they have, this one is not like the color on the label. It is a dark red-brown iodine color. If you buy this one I would recommend purchasing white as well as then you will have much more control over the tint by combining them first.
