My Robot Friend
I have had my robot friend, Simon, for a week. First impressions upon opening the box was an “Oooo Aahhh”. The directions said to let your new robot friend charge overnight before first use, but of course, I ran him around immediately to just see how he works! He worked for about ten minutes. I couldn’t figure out how to get him to his home (charging station), but it turns out, he can find his own way home just fine. I recommend that you do take a few minutes to read the directions and familiarize yourself with the remote. It took about 4 hours or so for Simon to fully charge, then I turned him loose. Let me just say, I thought my floors were clean, or, at least, pretty clean. As it turns out, they were not. They were not clean at all. Simon has picked up so much fur, dirt, dust, it’s unbelievable. My floors have literally never looked better! They are CLEAN. For real clean. I’ve always had a hard time cleaning under the bed, but now I don’t have to worry about it at all, because my robot friend takes care of it. I have all hardwood floors and tile. I also have a few throw rugs, some thick, some thin. Simon does a perfect job on the floors, and has no problems navigating over the throw rugs (though he might turn up a corner, but he will run back over it and still get it clean). I don’t think your robot friend would work very well if you have a lot of or mostly carpet. If you have hardwood or mostly hardwood, you will love your new robot friend. Simon mostly gets from room to room okay – the “up” entry points he cannot do on his own. For example, he cannot get over the hump into my kitchen, but he can get down the hump. He also cannot get over the hump to get in the bathrooms. This is actually fine for me, because I prefer to control when he goes into the kitchen anyway so that I can shake off the rugs and/or pick up the cat food and water bowls and any shoes or other things that might be on the floor. I just put a bar stool in his way to keep him from exiting the kitchen when it’s time for him to clean in the kitchen. Simon will clean for about 3 or 3.5 hours. He does not have a “plan” so to speak, not like a person would say go from corner to the center of the room, but he is still very thorough, and obviously, his plan is way better than mine since my floors are so much cleaner than they ever were when I was in charge. My advice is to just trust the process and let your robot friend find his way around on his own! Just make sure that you pick up any cords, especially small cords like phone charging cords, and shoe laces or the like, so that he doesn’t accidentally grab onto something he shouldn’t. Simon also has sensors so that when he comes to a piece of furniture or a wall, he will slow down so as to gently bump it before he turns off into a new direction. I have also noticed that if he comes into contact with a chair or table leg, he will often go in a circle all the way around the leg to clean around it. Once your robot friend is done doing your dirty work for you, he will go back home on his own. If your robot friend cannot find his way home, you may not have provided him enough space. Is that any way to treat your new best friend?? Make sure that he has several feet of clear space in front of his charging station, and that there are a few feet of clear space on the sides of the charging station as well. Also, make sure to empty out his dust bin after every use. One of the fortunate side effects of having my new robot friend, is the “give a mouse a cookie” effect it seems to have had. Give a person a clean floor, and the person may say oh, it looks so clean in here, let me pick up this shirt and put it away. The person then notices that the bathroom trash can is full; since the floors look so nice, the bathroom should be clean, too *cleans bathroom*, and so on. The only thing about my new robot friend, which isn’t enough to bother me at all, is that he is, well, he’s not super loud, but he’s not very quiet either. So, if you are watching tv, you may need to turn it up just a bit if you are running your robot friend while you’re at home. Well worth it for the service he provides, though. Overall, I do recommend this little robot. I am very pleased with this purchase. If you’re in the market for a robot floor cleaning wizard, don’t hesitate to click that Buy Now button.

Worth every penny so far!
I was pretty skeptical and didn't want to break the bank on something that might suck. Reviews on this product were great, and now I see why! It's not the most amazing I'm sure, but at this price point, I'm ecstatic! Two males, a dog, and an old cat that sheds more than Big Foot and this thing keeps my floors darn clean! I hate vacuuming, I hate sweeping, I hate chores honestly, and this does that for me. It's a bit random in it's tracking, and I'm still learning how it works, but so far it works just fine. A little loud, but it's a vacuum, why wouldn't it be? My pets don't seem to mind it and it handles transitions from hardwood to carpets VERY well. This bad boy even rides up the side of one of my fans sometimes and I think it's going to get stuck but it gets itself off just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this model at all. The controller is also pretty handy. Do yourself a favor and stop dealing with vacuuming all the time. Even though the thing spins around like an idiot sometimes, eventually it gets pretty much everything, even places you wouldn't think. ONE THING TO NOTE! Make sure your floors are clear of larger obects (pet toys, cables/wires, w/e else). It'll do fine with them, but sometimes will stop and avoid a large area or get stuck on a wire. I haven't had it suck up anything that I didn't want it to. Just gets stuck in the bristles a little bit. Will update my review if I have any issues! UPDATE-------- 6 months in, still fantastic. She's a bit overzealous and takes longer than I'd like to notice it's running stuff over, but it gets the job done still! One spinning brush got a bit messed up after running over a phone charger and wrapping around it (phone charger was undamaged and everything still functioned on the vacuum). It'll run over clothes and get stuck, but hey, it's not a maid, it's a vacuum. Sometimes it takes an extra pass to get everything, but still easier than doing it myself. Overall, I love it! My girlfriend got a Shark for her place after her mom bought it for her, and I swear mine is much better! It doesn't do as much random roaming and can actually find its way out of a corner without just going back and forth over and over again. Not sure if it does a better job cleaning up because her place is pristine most of the time, but I'd bet they're pretty similar. They do the exact same job but mine was $100 less, so really it comes down to longevity at this point, and I feel confident that mine will go long enough to justify paying almost half the price.

Glad I got it while on sale
I got this during a Prime sale because it was recommended by an influencer I follow and I'd wanted some sort of robotic vacuum but didn't know where to start and didn't want to spend a lot. For $99, this felt like a good deal. Overall, the vacuum does work great with pickup up hair, dust, and other bits. Each time it runs, the canister shows how good of a job it's done, even if it runs over the same area on a daily basis. Add to that the fact that it can run on a schedule and I don't have to think about it, I would give this 5 stars. However, the reasons for my 4 star review are the following: 1) the instructions are helpful but not thorough. You have the option to schedule this to run at a certain time, but I cannot figure out how/if there is a way to only set it for certain days. It either runs every day at the specified time (which seems unnecessary), or not at all. With the schedule, I had set it to run and some days it did, and some days it didn't, but then when I reset the schedule, it started to run every day. So, it worked, but really by accident because I had no idea how to set it. 2) this thing gets stuck EVERYWHERE all the time. Every time it runs, it gets stuck on something. Under a cabinet, in a corner, at the edge/top of the stairs. Part of this could be that the height of my lower cabinets is just tall enough for it to wedge itself under and not get out, but it is quite annoying to always have it get stuck. As I write this review, the vacuum is beeping at me again from a precarious position at the top of the stairs. Apparently, it can't really tell that the stairs are there and it should back up? Those are my two biggest issues with the thing, but again, for $99, it still feels like an acceptable price for what I get. It does have great suction, so when it's not stuck on something, it does an adequate job of cleaning. It is pretty loud, but it's a vacuum. The Edge functionality doesn't seem to work that well, but I don't use it often so it doesn't matter. For anyone that purchases, be mindful of cords or other lower profile things that are sitting on floors. We've had it pull lamps and other things off tables because it gets snagged on a cord, or knock over things that I'd think it would avoid (like mini Christmas trees or plant stands). It does handle the transition between thick carpet and hard flooring without issue.

Great robot vacuum, great price
I've had this vacuum for four years. I had too many obstacles that it wouldn't work well in my house, so I put it away for over three years. I just pulled it out the other day and am now using it daily to pick up the pet hair and dust. It's amazing. Great battery. The suction is incredible. I have very low pile rugs and it's doing a pretty good job picking up hair and dirt on those a well. I can't believe I haven't taken it out sooner. Love it! Now I'm going to get some replacement filters. I can't wait to try to self emptying model.

battery started dying 6 months in, but started great
I've had this guy for about 7 months now. First six months, awesome. Ran for like two hours in my studio apartment before dying, picked up all the hair and dust bunnies. I ran it every day, because I live in a desert city and dust accrues VERY fast. For the last month, I've noticed that even fully charged, it runs WAY less before docking. I timed it today, it only ran for 15 minutes before needing to be recharged. I brought the inner lithium battery to a Batteries + Bulbs to check the voltage, and it's pretty low. Basically the capacity to recharge is depleting fast. I was like, "that can't be right, it's only 7 months old and lithium batteries should last at least a year, if not two years!" After chatting with the B+B guys, we're thinking that it sits docked too much, sitting there even when fully charged. Which is frustrating, after consulting the manual it says to leave it docked for "normal use" and only turn it off and undock it when it's not used for a long period of time. Using it nearly every day, I assumed I fell under the "normal use" category. But much like your smart phone or a laptop, if it stays plugged in after being fully charged too much, the rechargeable lithium battery will start to deplete its capacity to recharge. So now I'm half a year in with a dying robot. I'm going to buy a replacement battery, and NOT listen to the instructions, and in the evening when it's fully charged I'm going to turn it off and undock it for the night, and see if the lithium battery lasts longer than six months. But it's very frustrating to be so excited for a great little vacuum for my small apartment, and already need to buy a replacement battery (which is not included in the first year warranty, I checked and it specifically lists the battery dying in the "not included" column, very smart of them). I mean, they already have my money, so it's not like I can do anything about it. And when it works, it's a great little robot for a much lower price than big brand names. But some transparency with their product would be nice. Like I wish they had listed the expected life of the battery, or that overcharging it will deplete the life faster. You would buy this thinking it would at least last a year, like most robot vacuums, right? Maybe in six months I'll update my review, but even if this new method works, it's kind of obnoxious to have to do it. I didn't buy this vacuum to babysit it, I bought it because sweeping sucks and robot vacuums are supposed to be the easier option. If it dies again in six months with the new method, I'll probably look at a new vacuum from another company, because I can only find these batteries from this company, and I certainly don't want to continue giving them money for a poor quality product. tl;dr it was a great product until it wasn't

UPDATED 2+ YEAR REVIEW - from 4 stars to 5 stars...
***08/07/2020 UPDATE*** I don't write a lot of reviews, but I had to come back and update this review from 4 stars to 5 stars. Is the vacuum perfect? No. But is it one of the best purchases I've ever made? Yes. For the money, this thing is a life changer. We haven't had to vacuum or sweep (except in corners and hard to reach places) since we bought it more than 2 years ago. For the most part it has run without issue. I change the dust bin every night (and knock the dust out of the filter), and clean and remove the pivot wheel and brushes occasionally as they can pick up some hair and fuzz. It has started acting a little strange where it won't run automatically after it's been powered off (I only power off if we go on vacation and can't empty the dust bin). But if I just adjust the schedule by an hour and then back to original time it seems to correct itself and run the next night per schedule. Anyway, there are fancier models with more features, but for hard surfaces and the price, I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I sometimes wish it would die so I could get one with a bigger dustbin - but now that I'm used to emptying it every night it's just part of my nightly routine. If you're looking for your first inexpensive robot vacuum - I can't recommend this one highly enough. ***09/05/2018 UPDATE*** I've now had the V3s Pro for 6 months and had to come back and upgrade my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. This vacuum has proven to be so effective it has really improved our cleanliness around the house and I am constantly recommending this vacuum to friends and family. It is very noticeable when it hasn't run for a couple of days as the dog hair shows up on my dark floors. The vacuum still has a few issues - the dust bin is so small that it fills beyond capacity every night. We have a pile rug that sheds like crazy along with 2 dogs so there is no shortage of material for the vacuum to suck, but its a pain to have to empty the dust bin every night. My next robot vacuum will have a larger dust bin. Additionally you need to do a good job picking up the floor every night before it runs (also forces good habits). Shoes with long laces, dog toys, clothing, sloped lamp base, dog bowl - all will find a way to tangle or disrupt the vacuum. Also, I've gotten over the gripe I mentioned about the scheduling and charging. Yes, it's a dumb glitch or programming decision, but in reality it doesn't really matter since I just run the vacuum every night anyway. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** Only had the vacuum for 2 days but so far it seems to function well as a vacuum. However, there is an odd programming bug (or feature choice) on the remote that won’t let you cancel the schedule time. The included instructions state that the only way to keep the robot from running at a scheduled time is to turn it off with the power switch. Problem is, the instructions also state that the vacuum will only charge when the power switch is in the on position. Alternate instructions found online suggest that you can set the schedule time to 00:00 but this functionality is not available on the remote I received. Instead it just rolls from 12 to 1. Perhaps this was a safety feature to keep people from leaving it on the charger in a chargeable state for days or weeks without a discharge? Or it’s just an annoying bug in the remote programming. Either way, it’s an annoying situation. I now have to remember switch the robot off after it docks to make sure it doesn’t start by itself at the scheduled time, but if I switch it off when it docks it won’t charge. For the time being, I don’t trust it to just run unsupervised and prefer to start it when I’m available to keep an eye on it. Tried to reset the schedule to 00:00 and discovered that you can’t. It may be that if you never set the start time in the first place you won’t have this problem so keep that in mind as you set it up.

This thing works wonders on managing pet hair on a daily basis and well worth the money.
I don't think I can begin without first saying... Where has this little guy been my entire adult life? Seriously my fellow citizens, if you have pets and feel like managing hair is an uphill battle, you need this product. Living in our home is 2 adults, a German Shepherd and a cat. Our GS sheds like she gets paid to do it. My usual routine was to vacuum on Wednesday's and Saturday's and most of the time, I would have to pull our the Shark on other days due to all of the hair that my girl dropped on the daily. With the bag-less Shark meant for pets, I would empty the canister 3 times each time I vacuumed, and that is no exaggeration.... I no longer have to pull out the Shark on day's other than my usual Wed and Saturday! IT IS THE BEST! After receiving this guy (haven't named him yet), within the week, I knew I was falling in love. I don't have him set to run every day at the same time, so I run manually when I choose. Let's get to the great things this little guy does for me and a couple of his hiccups: 1. I run him every day (except on Wed/Sat when I Shark vacuum) usually in the evenings when we're home from work. He runs about 2 hours and I stop him twice during that time to clean out the bin. 2. He's taken on, what looks to be 5 different paths in our home. I've never had one before, so I don't know what it would be like to have one that learns the home, but this one works for our needs. He takes a different path each day and then you get a good rotation for the entire week. 3. I only use him on hard-wood and ceramic tile. I don't use him on carpet because I don't think he has the suction to handle that type of job. I let my Shark handle that for me. Again, I have a large GS and a cat. 4. He does go over my normal thickness rugs, but he will not attempt the thick piled run in my living area, nor would I expect him as when he does find his way on the rug - he really has to work to get back down. 5. He will get stuck from time to time under a certain cabinet in my kitchen, guess that's a low spot. I try to watch out for that area. He will also get stuck under my dining room table that seats 6 and is very tight. Usually, he works his way through the areas perfectly, but he has gotten stuck twice under there and turned itself off. 6. Had recently dropped a coffee cup in the kitchen, put him on spot and he cleaned up the small shards nicely. 7. I love to set him to clean around the baseboards - that is a nice option for people with pets because the hair tends to hug the baseboards in high traffic areas like my hallway. Such a quick pick-up when company is coming and you're in a time crunch. 8. He usually always finds his way back to his base. When he fails to find home, it's because I had to purposely move him SEVERAL times for one reason or the other. If I move him once or twice, he still finds home. 9. My dog has zero problem with him, was concerned as she hates the Shark and tries to attack it. This one, doesn't bother her one bit. Our cat is completely infatuated and follows him all over the house. 10. He's not quiet, so you may not be able to nap while it's running. We can still watch TV and have a conversation while he's out doing his cleaning. I hope this review helps others that are on fence. Like I said, I've never owned a robot vac before, so I don't have anything to compare. If you're trying not to spend a fortune and want results, you'll get it with this one. Again, I use for hardwood and ceramic tile floors only. I don't think you would get great results for carpeted floors cleaning up after pets, just my opinion that it's not strong enough to handle that type of job. I love that I'm able to manage the pet hair in my home with this little guy, it totally works for us. This one is relatively inexpensive compared to others on the market. In my opinion, I can't see those other high-dollar brands being that much better to warrant the money.

No need for pricier version.
Updating: after a week of trying to find a manufacturer/seller to discuss repair/servicing, I have found zilch. The thing worked wonderfully--briefly. The one day in the middle of cleaning, stopped for no reason. Now will only back up an inch, then stop and beep an alarm. No troubleshooting in the manual made one bit of difference. Piece of absolute junk. Seems people are supposed to be willing to buy a new one once a month and be grateful. So, sadly, after loving "Crabby" for a time, I enter the ranks of crabby 1-star reviewers who found it mysteriously stopped functioning after a few weeks/months, and there is no company to turn to for repair. Don't waste your money. Buy a $3 broom from Dollar General. It'll last you 10 years. Adding to review below: the thing suddenly stopped working the other day. Nothing happened, it just stopped working. Troubleshooting with manual = an hour of totally wasted time. Cleaned everything. Unscrewed all the little screws and opened it up. Manual seems to indicate 2 beeps means "cliff sensors" need cleaning. Manual does not say what "cliff sensors" are anywhere, and also doesn't indicate whether one low beep, pause, 2 higher-pitched beeps means 3 beeps or 2 beeps. Not sure it's worth the cost of shipping this off, paying for repair, and paying for shipping back. So, it was fun for a brief time, but in the end a pricey and cheesy toy. Crabby does very well. And he looks like a crab too, with his little eyes and bristly claws. Very glad I decided on this low-end robot and not a more expensive one. This is all we need, no question. We have 2000 sq ft of all-wood floors on one story, so it's very easy. Have several cats and dogs, and this is perfect for the hair. Don't pay any attention to expensive product claims that this one won't pick up pet hair (from hard floors). I don't pick up the main household broom for days now, and we were sweeping several times a day before. Dogs went after it at first, of course, and border collie kept lunging out from behind furniture to bite it, but now they lazily shift out of the way when it approaches, and then lie back down again. One does have to go around the house picking up things that will get in the way, and I pull chairs out from the table so it can get around them (it does nicely go around furniture legs). Things it does not do: 1) kitty litter. We still have to use an actual broom around the cat boxes. Crabby will pick up some, but mostly the brushes scatter litter everywhere if it hits some. 2) corners, whether inside or outside. Its "edge" setting is great, but it goes wide around outside corners; and of course it can't really get all the way into inside corners. Other small things it can't handle: the kids' clothes on the floor--like the stray dirty sock lost under the bad. Small things will get partly sucked up and Crabby will choke and call for help. Pad that dogs' water bowls are on: gotta pick that up because, despite the half-inch-high edge, Crabby gets over it and spills the water, and then gets stuck and can't get back over the edge. And yeah, you can waste a surprising amount of time following it around with the remote, enjoying watching it eat up the balls of pet hair while you don't have to sweep--until you realize you could have swept half the da-n house in less time than you're spending steering this little guy. After a bit of fun the first few days, we've all learned to let it do its thing and not play with it. No idea how this would perform on carpet, as we have none, but for floors, it's perfect.

Where have you been all my life?!
I've been using the robot vacuum for two weeks and I'm amazed by it! I have long black hair that sheds a lot. Throughout my life, I've had to constantly vacuum and pick my hair off the floor by hand. I had considered a robot vacuum before but expected I'd have to regularly cut hair off the brush like I have to do with my regular vacuum. I recently went in search of a robot vacuum that sucked hair off the floor without having it get tangled in a brush and the iLife was my first choice. I thought because it was a budget-friendly vacuum that it wouldn't be this good, but I was wrong. What you get for the price is incredible! My floors has never been this bare; totally free of hair, dust, and crumbs! It catches everything! Even goes under my furniture, which I'm super lazy at cleaning. There are some cons, but I still give it 5 stars for its unexpected capability given the price. #1 Pro: It vacuums hard floors perfectly without your having to lift a finger. No more hair, dust, crumbs! Minor Cons: - The sensor could be improved. Remote is not sensitive. I.e. You have to be fairly close and pointing at the vacuum with the remote. Often have to press it a few times before the command is registered. -Also, presumably, a sensor problem: The vacuum struggles to "return home" when you press that button on the remote. Even if it registers the command, it'll wander aimlessly...even if it's right beside the dock to return home. I called iLife customer service about this and they said that there has to be at least 6 feet of free space in front of the dock. If you live in Toronto, in a 450 sq ft apartment, that's a difficult ask. The robot has to have a clear view of the dock because the sensor is not smart. I was told that it also won't find the home dock if there's a dark coloured rug in the way. I have a white and grey rug near the dock (2 feet away). CS said my rug shouldn't be a problem, but it is. I did a test by removing the rug and it was able to find home more often (although, still not always). This con is a very small one imo, so I just have to physically move the robot back to its dock when it's done. No biggie! -Hair does get caught in the sweepers and it'll stop and go into error mode when this happens. This is also a super small con because all you have to do is turn it over and pull them out of the sweepers, then restart it. Compared to using scissors to cut through a mountain of rolled up hair in a traditional vacuum, this is a miracle! -It does climb on my rugs (and this impressed me because I wasn't expecting it to), but it's not great on them. I knew this going in because the vacuum suction is not as powerful as you'd find on more expensive robot vacuums made for carpeted floors/rugs (I compared). I bought it specifically for hair on my hardwood, so if that's your purpose too, this does the perfectly! The pros trump all the cons. I 💯highly recommend this for anyone with long hair that sheds a lot!

uso diariamente

Practical, Powerful, Auto scheduling and Saves Time
This is sooooooo much easier to get rid of dust and pet hair under the Sofa and Bed ... I Wish I had known about this earlier .... Great Vacuum Cleaner at an affordable price. Love this vacuum cleaner. Cleans under Sofa, Bed, pet hair very well. Auto docking with press of "Home Button" and only one to control through remote control, great feature with battery lasts for 160 mins, auto scheduling, on the spot cleaning. Good buy at 16k price. Only downside with this model is - it is minus wet mop. May be the next version has wet mop.
