Aluminum French Cleat, 30 inch-2 Pairs Heavy Duty Z Clips Hanger

We used these to hang a very heavy antique mirror. Fastened into the wood on the mirror and into the studs on the wall. Worked beautifully.

These work great . Hung some very heavy wood slates and I have no issues. One thing to note is you probably should have a number at the bottom of whatever you’re hanging. The cleats do make the object stick out from wall a little bit and numbers helped to even that out. My slat panels were 2’x 8’ long and very heavy

I used a pair of these cleats to hang a large painting measuring more than 10 feet wide. The longer cleats work really well because they permit you to hit multiple studs. The holes are drilled to align with 16" studs which made attachment easy. I used very long construction screws to go directly into the studs, which is advisable. But the hardware also came with a nice assortment of plastic anchors and screws that would be useful for added strength in drywall or masonry. I was especially surprised to see they even included a mortar drill bit for an SDS hammer drill, which few homeowners are likely to have. This would make very quick work of any hard masonry. Once placed level on the wall, the cleat system permits considerable horizontal adjustment which making them strong, convenient and forgiving. This job would have been infinitely more difficult using anchors alone.

Used these French Cleats to hang heavy mirrors. Good quality thick heavy duty cleats that are easy to cut. A center line is present to allow for cutting additional holes in line with other holes. I managed to attach cleats to mirror mounting by substituted existing loop bracket held in place by bolts which attached to cleat easily, requiring newly drilled hole in cleat. The other mirror had incorporated inverted V like mounting brackets that I was able to bolt to cleat with 1/4 inch long, 1/4 wide, 20 turn bolts with small bolts. Very happy with purchase. Pricey but worth it. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed with the drill bit provided. The bit is slightly to big and does not provide a secure fit for the anchor (molly) in my sheet rock wall. Had to use my own slightly smaller drill bit on the second French Cleat Hanger. Otherwise it is exactly what I was looking for.

Low profile and super weight capacity as long as you can hit studs. The aluminum is easy to drill to allow for odd wall stud locations.

I used these to hang cabinets in my garage, and they work as they are supposed to.

I was avoiding hanging a very large mirror that my wife and I purchased as I was not certain how the wall could support the weight. The manufacturer sent it with a cable type hanger, and I knew in order to mount this in the position that I wanted to on the wall that cable style hanger would not work. I have hung pictures before with French cleats, but did not think they would be sufficient to bear the weight of this very large mirror - then I found these. These French cleats are very substantial, much more so than the smaller types sold in Home Depot. I used both in order to support this wood back mirror, attaching one on the bottom and one on the top to further distribute the load. As the wall is built from metal studs, I needed to use toggles to fasten this cleat into the wall system. Because these cleats are so substantial, the cleat allowed me to span four metal studs on both top and bottom, easily distributing the weight. I have no doubt that this mirror will never accidentally come off the wall. This is such a great solution for hanging large items on any type of wall.

First time using French cleats and I was not disappointed with the strength of these. The hardware provided is very durable and easy to use. I will definitely use them again when another project comes up.

Easy install. Held my hitch with no issues. Solid with rail on top and bottom. We painted white trim and put it over top of the rail at the bottom to cover it

The cleats themselves are excellent and are holding our heavy sign up very nicely, very securely. I have no idea why they included a concrete drill bit and anchors, as I would say 99% of the people that need this would be anchoring into drywall. Fortunately I had my own drywall anchors so that wasn’t a big issue, but as a warning to everyone else they anchors that they included will not work in half inch drywall. The supplied anchors push all the way through the drywall and then just spin, as the barrel that is in the drywall itself is flat and smooth and has no way of gripping the drywall. They are designed for far deeper holes in something like concrete. If it wasn’t for the anchors I would definitely have given this item a five star review.
