Fit Perfect on 2013 4Runner Limited
I used these mounts when replacing my 4Runner Limited’s XREAS suspension. They feel high quality and work just as they should. These come with hardware, bushings, and a bushing on the bottom molded into the mount so an additional one is not necessary on the bottom. My Eibach shocks came with a bushing that I did not need to use because of this.

USE WHEN REPLACING SHOCKS
Fit Gen2 Tacoma perfectly. This latest version uses 15mm whiz (locking) nuts. Studs were hard, no worry about stripping. Bushing for top of shock is already installed. Top washer and bushing are furnished. Large washer goes on top. Neoprene spring cushion seems tough and not easily torn. Used for my Bilstein 6112 coil-overs. No problem at all with installation. Top sleeve on my old shock mounts was very worn and sloppy (orig from 2013). Glad I replaced them.

Better than the original?
08 FJ Cruiser 122kmi. OME suspension. I've always had this noise that sounds like two washers smacking together. A sort of light clang with a short but high pitched ping to it. Mostly on down travel of the shock. I suspected sway bar was hitting the spring perch and removed the sway bar. Noise was still there. I then suspected the spring just bottoming out the strut at full extension. I went mad trying to find the source of it and never did. Until my strut isolator bushings started to crack and I replaced the tophats and bushings with these KYB kits. As it turns out. the OEM hardware for the strut isolator bushing and washers around the top hats follow this order bottom to top. Washer>BottomBushing>TophatWasher>Tophat>TopBushing>Washer>Nut. After taking the old tophat out I now suspect that the sound I was hearing was from the washer above the bottom bushing hitting the top hat itself..the OEM hardware uses a special washer to align the strut inside the tophat. This is a metal on metal situation, once the bushings start to go they allow these parts to temporarily separate on fast shock extensions and clash back together. The KYB kits have a bushing that is shaped the same as the old bushing and washer combination. Thus, eliminating this noise all together... Thank you KYB for designing around this. You solved a problem I wasn't really sure I had. I have not heard that annoying sound from the first time I backed out of my driveway since I installed this kit. Highly recommend.

Installed these KYB SM5640 top hats with Bilstein 5100 shocks and Old Man Emu 2888 front coil springs on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4x4. Fit perfect and are excellent quality. Good idea to change them with your shocks to save labor in the future due to squeaking and or knocking from the top hats being worn out.

Best price by far compared to other websites and local stores (for same part number). Perfect OEM replacement for my 2006 Tacoma 4x4 4.0 SR5 with aftermarket OME 2885 coils and Bilstein 5100's. Includes all the bushings, including the molded-in rubber bushing found underneath the tophat and protrudes into the center hole, providing cushioning and tight fit around the shock stem.
