My favorite dog food for my 4 year old blue heeler mix. She is a medium sized dog, about 25 lbs. I noticed she was gaining too much weight when we had her on Pedigree so I switched her to this. Now her coat is so much softer, and she is lean where she is supposed to be. Her regularity and poop is good too. I feel like this brand packs nutrition and quality in their ingredients so I trust it. The price point isn’t so bad either. I like the resealable bag too.

Great dog food for the price. I did try to switch to something else in the same price point recently and my dog had a really hard time digesting it. This is definitely not the same as grow your own chopped from your kitchen food, but as far as dried kibble goes it's pretty good.

"Almost as good as people food" -our dogWe love this formula for our 69-pound lab/shepherd/husky/Energizer bunny mix, and he does too. It does have a pretty strong odor if you get close, but he's never had any stomach problems on it and this bag is a great size for how much he eats within its shelf life.

Long time science diet user for my dogs. Always provides great nutrition for them. They love the taste, and I love the fact that it comes in the perfect size to match the size of my dog and they’re eating patterns. (Labs). Also love that I can count on the freshness of the food and that I can Velcro the bag to continue to keep it fresh.Especially appreciate that their food is made from simple ingredients and not tons of fillers that they don’t need. This helps them live along and healthy life.

I am passing this to my dog to review...."When the package arrives, I get so excited that I bark at the door! When my human brings the box in, I can't contain myself and just start sniffing like a pig hunting for truffles. After he opens the box and places the bag away, my mouth waters because I know that there's a fresh batch of food waiting for me! When the time comes, and my human opens the bag... OH MY GOD! The smell of fresh dog food is to die for! He pours them into a larger container even though the bag can be resealed to keep the freshness locked in, but whatever, my human is weird to be honest. When I finally get round to eating, no one can move me from my bowl.. and speaking of bow'e'l, my movements have been great! I go periodically but it's been easy to clean up! Well, I think so.. but that's why I have a human do it so I don't have to! Anyway, if you're looking for food, I would recommend this! Woof woof, Presley".

According to our vet, Hill's Science Diet is the best fool line you can feed your dog or cat. We have a pup who is now 18 months old and graduated from puppy large breed to adult large breed. This is all he eats except for the odd treat. His coat and conformation are gorgeous. A bouvier cross, his musculature is amazing. His gut gives him no trouble. He loves the flavour and yums down every piece. He gets a handful in his Kong when we go out and it is just the best treat to him. He has energy to spare and in all, an amazing, happy dog. I credit his diet and lots of exercise.

If you've read any of my other reviews of Hill's Science Diet, you'll know I'm a big fan of both the dry and wet foods they offer for dogs. With five dogs in the family, ranging from giant breed (Irish Wolfhound) to tiny (miniature poodle), finding food they all like is not an issue with Science Diet. And while I buy small-kibble dry food for the poodle, he likes to eat the large-adult sized kibble, while the Wolfhound is happy with the small bite-sized mini foods. Go figure.This Chicken and Barley dry food for adult large breed is a good example. While my Wolfhound is happy with this dry food, the poodle continually grabs the larger pieces from the Wolfhound's bowl, while ignoring the smaller kibble in his bowl! Whether it's because of the taste, or he just likes larger pieces, I can't say, but I do see all five dogs happily digging into the dry food. The ingredient list is excellent, as is the added supplements, and my dogs, on Science Diet dry and wet food for years, are all healthy and happy. I attribute a lot of that to the high-quality food they eat.
