The barrels are machined slightly oversize to accomodate fitting into 1911s from different manufacturers, so finding the high spots and filing them was part of the installation. They recommended using a black marker, assembling, and looking for removed marker. I couldn't get the fit until I used Hi-Spot Blue, which made finding the high spots easy. My only complaint is that for a tinkerer like me, this is a two-lifetime's supply. (Since it is non-drying, it will probably be fine at the estate sale.) I'd like a small container about one quarter as large.
