20 Pack G4 GX5.3 Rectangular Lamp Holder Porcelain Socket for MR16 MR11 LED Halogen Bulbs with 6" Leads

I've been in the medical illumination business for 35 years, and this type of ceramic socket, with the covered leads, last many years longer(often 3-4 times as long) than the cheap "round" type, with plastic insulated leads. I only buy this type for my repairs(even though it costs me the "return" business). Don't waste your time, money and effort using anything else.

I used these to convert some older solar landscape lights into 12V wired lights. I made some baser plates that wit on the bottom of the lights and with 2 screws, mounted these to those plates. Keep in mind that these are ceramic and need to be mounted to a flat surface or you may break them if cranking them down to an uneven surface and they cannot flex to that shape. The reason that they got 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't have a very tight grip on the bulb that plugs into them. If something smacks the light that this fixture is installed in, you can see that the bulb actually moves and I am not talking about a hard hit. My concern is that this loose grip may allow for corrosion to form between the socket and the bulb leads since these are being used outdoors but only time will tell. Otherwise, they appear to be a quality socket for the price and worked well for my use.

These lights come with a cheap made socket I wanted to replace the whole thing but they are pricey. So I began to mess with them and realized they could be replaced so i hit Amazon and sure enough I found they. They work great.

Quality product, will buy again.

Perfect replacement for old fixtures!

One connection on each socket is bad causing it to heat up and melt the wire. The insulation becomes completely brittle and cracks.
