(1.5l/50oz) with Enlarged Container WITH KEFIR GRAINS

I purchased this product in order to make Kefir using raw milk and have had amazing results. I also purchased the organic kefir grains from Microbiota and this is an extremely effective combination. My first 1.5l batch was done before 24 hours and the kefir grains showed significant expansion. With the second batch they completely filled the cage and extended outside. I removed a significant amount of the grains since it is suggested to fill the cage 3/4 and with the third batch it was done even faster and again they filled the entire cage and extended out. The final product is the best kefir that I have had. I think this is absolutely the easiest way to make kefir at home and is an excellent product. (both the fernenter and grains). The owner is extremely nice and helpful, I spoke with him a couple of times with questions. My biggest challenge is what to do with all the extra kefir grains...

Planned on using my own half gallon BALL jars to double ferment and the kefir lid does NOT fit a wide mouth Ball jar as pictured. The basket is a little hard to clean as milk curds clog it up. I try to bang the basket lightly to dislodge the milk curd clogs into a bowl before making my next batch. I do not think this is any harder or messier than push ing grains through a strainer but disappointed that I expected a lid to fit my own Ball wide mouth jars but did not fit!

I recently purchased a Kefir Fermenter (1.5l/50oz) with Enlarged Container and I couldn't be more pleased. The fermenter has a well-designed build consisting of a fermentation chamber, a large spigot, and airlock seal. The large container is just the right size to fit all of my grains so I can move the fermenter around easily from room to room. The best part is that my grains have definitely been fermenting faster and I'm getting better quality Kefir faster and with no mess at all. Highly recommended.

I tried using your fermenter but it made a mess. Kefir grains spilling out of the cone and all over the milk in the jar. I took the insert out and decided to use the jar with kefir grains and no insert.So the insert looked promising but too messy. A very expensive half gallon glass jar was what I ended up with. I'm sorry, your system is not workable for me. Maybe others have had a better experience. I read reviews that didn't mention the issues I had, so it may just be me and nothing wrong with it at all. But, since review is based on my experience this is the only review I can honestly give you.

I'm actually shocked that there aren't more reviews for this product.I tried to make milk kefir about a year ago using the regular straining method and got fed up and gave up on making it.Fast forward and I've been having some heartburn/acid reflux that is alleviated after drinking kefir, so I decided it was time to start making my own again, but I wanted to be sure it would be easier, so I searched google and amazon until I found this wonderful little contraption. It's easy to clean, it keeps the grain separated from the kefir, and it makes great homemade milk kefir. You can thank me later after you buy it.

Its a great Idea but the basket would not work very well for me!Its hard to clean an my Kefir gets squeezed in there. Im on using the glass.

This product is relatively easy to use, but it is difficult to keep clean. The product description implied that it wouldn't require much cleaning at all and that the large kefir grain basket was an added bonus. I find that the basket is too big. Plus, including the straw (that must be used with the basket), the basket comes apart in to four pieces that must be scrubbed with a brush to keep clean. I have been using this product for over a month and I do not love it. In the future, I will probably be shopping for a smaller less complicated basket.Thanks,BB
