Restored my old truck
I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota with 223,670 miles on it. I had been using a decent synthetic 10-30 oil in my truck, but I noticed it had started to smoke and use a quart every 500 miles. I thought I would give this oil a try since it was for high mileage vehicles and it was 10-40, so I it figured it was a little thicker. After I changed oil to this Valvoline High Mileage, 10-40, it immediately quit smoking and I got about 2500 miles on it before I had to add my first quart. I know it sounds crazy, but I am now going to use Valvoline in my other vehicles. Now, I am hoping for 300,000 on my Dodge!

Old Dodge didn’t like
Normally using Castrol HM 10-40 but saw this and would give it a try. I have had issues in the past with other brands not maintaining good oil pressure in my high mileage 87 D150 with the slant six. Changed my oil today and took it for a several mile drive in hot weather and at every stop the pressure plummets. This is a one off issue in an older vehicle of course but I am going back to Castrol. YMMV.
