Nice hops
Put this in a couple batches of mead. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

My favorite for a SMaSH
Great dual purpose hop. I used to use Citra for my SMaSH recipe but I decided to try this on a whim. I'm a fan.

Good Product, But a Little Pricey
I ordered this for a recipe that I was set to brew with some ingredients that I bought at my LHBS. When I realized that I had forgotten the hops, I ordered these as I was not able to get back to the store before my planned brew day. They are more expensive, but also just as good as whatever you'd find elsewhere. In a pinch, they were worth the price!

Not Just For Beer
While I would love to use these for brewing my own beer, I'm not currently set up for that. Instead, I am using them to make a medicinal tea to combat stress and promote restful sleep. I use 3-4 pellets and dissolve them in hot water in Pyrex measuring cup. After a few minutes I pour the the liquid through a fine mesh strainer into a cup and enjoy. Well, enjoy might be a stretch. The resulting mix is quite bitter, but not undrinkable, and it does have some fruity notes. Perhaps adding some sweetener or other ingredients might enhance it's drinkability, but I treat it more like medicine and chug it down. It does work! The thick bag arrived intact. I used scissors to open it and wish it had an option to reseal, but I can use baggies for that. The scent the pellets give off is very rich, floral, and fruity. If you've ever visited a brewery, you'll recognize it instantly. BSD's Mosiac appears to be top quality stuff. I have no doubt it would make a great addition to a home brewed beer, but thanks to the internet I discovered other uses for it and I've very happy with the "tea" I get from Mosaic. I expect the ½ pound size will last me a while given that I only need a few pellets per cup.~ Kort

Mosaic is a great hop
Overall, Mosaic is a great hop varietal. As a longtime homebrewer (started nearly 20 years ago), I'm kind of a rarity in that I'm not a hop-head like most others. But that's what makes mosaic hops perfect for me. Sure they've got a lot of prominent hop characteristics, but they have a sort of spicy, fruity nose and they add more flavor than the oily hops you're probably used to in an IBA.Eight ounces is a bit much for a beer -- even an IPA usually won't use more than 6, and once you open the sealed bag, they oxidize quickly, so you've gotta have a plan to use them all or some will go to waste. I brewed a SMaSH IPA with these (not exactly recommended because these are usually for aroma/flavor, but the AA is plenty for bittering, too.)I normally get all of my brewing ingredients from my LHBS, but I figured I'd give these a try. I was worried about these being stored at room temperature in a warehouse somewhere, and even more worried that they were delivered to my doorstep on a 95-degree day, so they sat in the heat for a few hours before I got home, but when I opened them I didn't pick up on any off aromas or anything. (Although, I've still got 3 weeks to wait until I can pour that first pint.) In the meantime, I guess I'll just RDWHAHB!
