Merrick was purchased by purina and the small ingredient type plan changed to a "new formula". My pup likes this food, no issues there, but over time he's keeps on having digestive issues and when my neighbors, who coincidentally feed their two small dogs the same, had kidney stone issues, I've decided to move on.I want to state clearly that I don't know if it is the food, but when the only thing a dog consumes is a single brand of food and when another dog has some issues with digestive track, it makes you wonder. Honestly I don't think we have all that great options on pet food so you simply have to go with what your own pets are comfortable with.
